Making money - any car booters? Updated!

Well, I finally did my first car boot sale! It was a small one in a local car park and I made the princely sum of £37!

I'm actually quite pleased with that because I was going to give the stuff away. I couldn't believe the things some people were selling - dirty junk!:rotfl: I managed to sell a giant 'Crazy Frog' but failed to sell an immaculate girl's coat from Next. Go figure.:confused3

Well done !!! I am hoping to do one next Sunday morning. Can't believe someone wanted a Crazy Frog :scared1::scared1:

2 Crazy Frogs! I sold a giant one and a singing one.:lmao: I could not believe how many people picked the giant one up. It was the thing that generated the most interest.:confused3

So funny about the crazy frogs! :lmao: I remember reading something along the lines of having an eye-catching item on your stall can really bring in the punters, even something you're not intending to sell. I suppose it could get old telling people that something isn't for sale but they may well check out your other stuff while they're there ;)

I've got another Crazy Frog that I will take to the next one I go to. My MIL bought them for the kids.:rotfl:

I'm building up to doing one of the big car boot sales. I'm going to do another one first, so I can get a bit braver. The first one I did was very small and pretty friendly.:)

Did a big car boot sale today and made £90!:cool1: We were selling soft toys/games and baby clothes - no big items, so I thought that was pretty good. I sold a lot of my Disney soft toys to one lady who was a WDW lover. She got married there. I was dying to ask if she was a Diser.;)

i no what you mean, we done ares in may not the weekend we wanted as we wear loading up the car it started to rain, so we did it the weekend after.

I was going to but DH thinks I come across as a nutter. Can't think why.:confused3 I did chat with her for about 15 minutes about Disney.:)

Well done that's fab!!! I am still yet to sort out all my junk let alone get around to doing the blooming car boot. :rotfl2: Maybe it should be my goal for July - declutter the whole house, two sheds & garage!

Do it! It was so nice to get rid of boxes of stuff and make money too. I think most car boot sales finish in Sept so time is ticking away. I aim to de-clutter as much as possible before this Christmas. :thumbsup2
