Making Large Group ADR

Our reservation window opens later this week and I had a question about making ADRs for a big group.

We are going to be at WDW at the same time as 2 other families and while we aren't planning to spend much time together we do want to share a few meals together. There are 13 of us total (6 adults, 7 kids).

Will I be able to make an ADR for 13 people online? Or should we each make our own family's reservation and ask to be near each other?

Since there are only 5 in my family, will I be able to make a reservation for 13? I have each of their confirmation numbers.

Help!

Make your reservations for the maximum number of people that will be dining together. Even though there are only 5 in your family you can make a reservation for all 13 of you. Be sure to include everyone who will be at the table, regardless of age and whether eating or not, because of fire code regulations.

You can make your reservations online. I just did a couple of trial res and it accepted 13. You can also call the dining line if necessary.

If you make a single res for 13, the CMs at the podium will know that you are a large group and will do their best to seat you together or near each other. If you make 3 separate reservations it is less likely you'll be seated together or near each other or it may increase your wait time.

I think the online process will require you to list each persons name. If you all have shared on MDE you should have access to them already. I would recommend you make a few trial reservations to make sure you iron out any issues. If you do have to create people online, then they should be there for you when you do the real reservations.

Also, I do think that some places have limits on how many people you can make a reservation for. So you may be forced to spilt. Again, I would suggest trying to make so reservation at each place before your window opens.

you can book a group up to 49 people on the Disney website.

I suggest you book your group all together if you want to sit with/near each other.

if you book several tables separately when you get there its doubtful the will be able to accommodate your request of sitting near each other.

at least if you book one reservation with the number of people that are in your group they know ahead of time how many tables will be needed and already assume you want to sit as close together as possible.

I have the same number in my party as you do and my booking will start in a few days. I have been doing some trial reservations just to get a sense of what will be available. There are some restaurants that say " there are too many guests in your party" (or something like that). I have heard that if you call for those restaurants they will still be able to book for 13, just not online.

We have dining reservations for our group of 10. BOG is the only one we had trouble securing. We are two families - party or 7 and party of 3.Should I have Disney make a note of this in my reservations? I assumed we would always all be seated together but I read a thread for 1900 park fare where a group was split up between two separate tables. Has this happened to anyone else? I definitely don't want to eat apart from my five young children.

You don't have to list everyone unless it's prepaid. You can list the reservation holder plus twelve other guests without naming the other guests.

You do not need any resort confirmation numbers other than your own (unless it's a BOG lunch FP)

In my experience even when they need to split you up they try and keep the tables right next to each other. We have dined many times with a large party and have only been split up twice. Once at Chef Mickeys with a party of 11, we had a booth and a round table for 7 right next to it. At first I was upset but when we sat down we found that we were so close that it didn't really make a difference. The second time was at Cape May Cafe and it was a similar setup, one long table and one table for 4. Again, it really didn't feel like we were split up at all.
