UPDATE HERE!
Mon., Nov. 26 ~ ANIMAL KINGDOM!
This is the day that Gramma is joining us!

I think she will drive over from Tampa Sunday evening and meet up with us at the condo. Im not sure if she will drive back home Monday night or not. Id like to twist her arm and see if shell stay 2 nights since Tuesday is our day off and she could hang out with us and
oops, we arent talking about Tuesday yet! Back to Monday!
Id like for us to get to AK for opening so we can catch some characters out front! Last time we caught Meeko out here and Abby was in her Pocahontas costume and he came running up to her.

It was really sweet. We didnt do a whole lot in the AK on our last trip. It was just too crazy busy. We liked what we did do and are looking forward to repeating some stuff and trying new things too.
Our MUST do list for AK:
1. Tree of Life
I want a closer look this time.
2. Pocahontas
3. The safari (didnt do this before
3 hour wait and no fast passes!)
4. Pangani Trail
5. Wildlife Express Train (we loved this last time and really enjoyed the Conservation Station.)
6. Kali River Rapids
7. Everest (Im determined to get on this
scared out of my wits
but determined.)
8. Dinoland (would you believe we didnt do this last time?)
9. Lion King
10. Finding Nemo
Things we MAY do:
1. ITTBAB (I dont know
I really hate bugs and so does Evan.)
2. Flights of Wonder
Thats all I have on my customized map
there has to be more

I just cant think right now. Im sure Uncle John will tell me what I missed!

At any rate, I hope my mother enjoys herself and that AK makes a good first Disney impression on her.
As for food, we will hit a CS for lunch. Id love to try Flame Tree as I hear it is very good. I have to take another look at the menu! (Darn picky eaters!

) For dinner, we have a 4:30 ressie for Rainforest Café. My procrastination over making ADRs bit me in the behind with this one too! I couldnt get a lunch either. Oh well, by the time we get seated and order itll be closer to 5:00 Im sure. Nonetheless, we enjoyed this last time and are looking forward to going again.
Since AK closes so early, well have a free evening! Can anyone say
. SHOPPING!
Next up
Tuesday! Our free day and
MVMCP
in the evening!!!
UNCLE JOHN SAYS:
Pretty good list kid, you are starting to get it........
You need to do the Maharahjah jungle trek as well as the Pangani Forest Exploration trail. Both are very good, probably my favorites. Great photo ops of animals...it is not too much walking in my opinion....
Flights of wonder is excellent, we had always skipped it....we saw it about 2 years ago, it is great........The guy that comes in on stage as a tour guide is great..it has always been the same guy (approx. 45-50 years old, mustache). I would assume they have others play the part, I cant imagine anyone doing as well as him. Of course
UNCLE JOHNgot picked out of the audience and got to go up on stage and be in the show (I always get picked at Disney). The birds are awesome......tell Tom to get have a $5 bill ready, if they pick him a bird will fly to him and take it out of his hand....
Dinoland, great place but you could easily spend several hours there. The boys will want to stay in the dig site. Ride Primeval whirl, its like the tea cups on a roller coaster....bring a barf bag!!
Fest. of Lion King is a must.....Gramma will like it too!!!
Fastpass the safari......send Tom up ahead to go get the passes first thing...they easily give them all out by noon....
Rafikis planet watch (Conservation station): skip it....train ride is fun but I have never seen anything more than billy goats there...(OK, a few snakes & such)
ADVICE: The billy goats walk around in there own poop all day and get it all over there hooves then jump up on you when you buy some of the food. Hence, you have billy goat poop stains all over your clothes for the entire day, nice huh?
Expedition Everest: Very good ride, classic Disney theme ride...Fast pass it with all 6 tickets you will have, Tom and you can ride it 3 times in a row!!! Gramma can handle the kids...
Dinosaur ride (formerly countdown to extinction); good ride, too intense for the boys.....Abby maybe.
River Rapids are good, they have changed it a little....you no longer go right under heavy water falls......you still get very wet from splashing though!!
ADVICE: If you enjoy wet underwear this is the ride for you!!
Flametree BBQ: We like it.....hey its ribs, I never met a spare rib I didnt like!!
Warning though: After you get your food you go to one of the pavillions behind the rest., ducks & birds are everywhere while you eat, they walk under your table.....I enjoyed the little quackers...some people were scared to death of them......(serious, we saw adults sit with there legs up on their chairs). It is alot to eat though and if you have a early ressie at Rainforest you might spoil your dinner!!!
ITTBAB- funny, if you have seen it once is enough.....if scared of bugs you wont like it.....
Shopping, shopping.......shopping.....this isnt a flippin shopping trip....
But they do have a decent outlet mall just north of DTD on the east side of
I-4.....has one of the largest adidas stores I have seen....I'll get you directions!!
It will be a great day at AK!!!! Gramma will love it.....
ENJOY!!!
PS. Watch for plant people. They have people in plant costumes on stilts......bizarre but cool!!!!!
