Making Good on a Very Merry Promise! COMPLETE!

hey love!

Great 2nd update. Moving right along :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you got to see the mickey electric tower! :yay: I miss it :sad2:

Your condo looks excellent! I might have to consider staying there some time :thumbsup2 How cool that ya'll got to be the first ones to stay there!

I can't wait to read the update about Epcot. I forgot that this was your first time there. Hope it was great!:surfweb:

Thanks Carla! Gotta love that electric tower! I think they should make them all like that! :thumbsup2 We actually got to see it twice... but that's a story for another day. :sad2:

I meant to reply to this part on your trip report but forgot. Anywho, is there a web site that gives you the things at every exit like your list had? I loved your list, it was great and would be a tremendous asset on a trip like that. I'm really curious!

Still trying to catch up, but I was so excited that I could finally offer an answer to someone's questions. :yay: :woohoo:

This website give you all kinds of great info on what is at each exit on any road trip. http://www.travmatix.com/

Just type in your start point and end point and it will give you directions and info on what is between here ane there. You can even customize what you would like it to show. It's fun to play around with.

Hope it helps!!

Hello and welcome! It is never too late to join in! Besides, the TR portion just started so you are almost right on time! ;)

I'm so sorry about your MIL. It must have been very painful to see her fight for so long. I'm sure those 3 years must have been filled with many ups and downs. I am sure she would be thrilled to know that she has made it possible for your daughter to have a lifetime of magical memories.

Just nosey (and my friend Sharky wants to know too :rotfl2: ) ~ what is your home resort?

Our home resort is AKV, but we stayed at OKW this trip. We'll be at AKV in March and I think again in October, but we haven't booked that one yet. We're trying to talk my Mom and step-dad into joining us. If they come we'll need to get a bigger villa. Either way, I can't wait to check it out!!

Now that I'm all caught up, I'm REALLY sorry I didn't find this TR earlier. We were at WDW at the same time. I would have loved to meet up with you guys!!! We were even at MVMCP the same night. Bummer.

Looking forward to reading more!!

Nicole. Hi! Nice to officially meet you and your beautiful family.

I just read the entire report, yes, but you made it so easy with all those quick little links. Thank you! :worship:

I love so many things you did. I loved the countdown calendar. Very cute and crafty.

We drove from Michigan with our 3 kids. Remember Michigan? Miss it any?

Flying is much better from Michigan, but reading about your driving makes me miss that. Don't tell my husband though. I think he'd just about pass out with the thought of doing that with 4 kids. I do most of the driving.

I also wanted to try a condo, you got a great deal, but we love to be immersed in the magic. It's a sickness we can't help it.

So, I am here, reading. We went last year the same time. Great minds do think alike. I am positive now about that.

I'm here too Nicole! The condo looks great - we love having the extra space when we travel too! :woohoo:

We were at Epcot that day as well - not all day - just for the CP pkg (2:20 at the Garden Grill, followed by the 5:00 CP) then we hightailed it out of there and back to the MK. It was quite busy at Epcot that day - how did it seem to you guys?

Can't wait to hear more. :thumbsup2

Sara

OOOHHHH, I can't wait to hear about all you did at Epcot!

Your resort looks nice. It would freak me out a little bit having a window right in the shower, though. Other than that, it looks great!:thumbsup2

Your condo looks very nice. Abby must have really loved having that queen room all to herself.

Yay, you are arriving at your first park! :yay:

So cool.... we'd love to buy into DVC. Someday ~sigh~.

Oh you are kidding? I did not see any other green mickey heads at all! I did see a family with shirts that I think came from the design boards though... was that you????? It was on the boardwalk from adventureland to frontierland.

Hey Mony! Welcome! Everyone, meet monymony ~ she gave me my Woody. Oh dear... that didn't come out right. :rolleyes1

And - I miss my family and friends in Michigan - other than that, not so much! ;)

And yes... see, thinking like me is not scary at all?

Hi Sara! Epcot was busy for sure. But I cannot comment anymore than that because I haven't gotten that far yet!! Trying to pull a fast one on me, huh? :rotfl2:

OOOHHHH, I can't wait to hear about all you did at Epcot!

Your resort looks nice. It would freak me out a little bit having a window right in the shower, though. Other than that, it looks great!:thumbsup2

Yes, well, I didn't have to shower in there! Maybe I should have made sure the blinds were closed when Abby did though? I'm just kidding.... I did make sure!

Your condo looks very nice. Abby must have really loved having that queen room all to herself.

Yay, you are arriving at your first park! :yay:

She did love it... and she loved the TV in her room too! She's been begging to have her own TV forever and this only intensified the begging. It is at the top of her Christmas list.

Well... I'm off to eat homemade mac and cheese!! Yummy!

!

I see you've been hanging out on Nebo's Trip Report a big much........:rolleyes1

Friday, Nov. 23 ~ IT’S GO TIME!!!!

I think we got up around 7:00 and got showers and packed everything up again. We had some breakfast with the ‘rents and visited awhile. I think we left their place a little before 11:00. Not as early as I was planning but we were enjoying ourselves.

So we made our way to I-4 and headed east! Tom drove, I took a nap and the kids watched a movie. Before long we saw this:

IMG_0625.jpg

YAY! :yay: I was so excited to see it!

Then we saw this:

IMG_0626.jpg

We’re getting closer!!!! Mickey here we come!!! :cool1:

But first we had to check in at Lake Buena Vista Spa and Resort Village! (Do you think they could’ve come up with a longer name for it?) Anyway, this place is just off of I-4, on 536 right off of International Drive. It is right around the corner from the Nick hotel and that huge Marriott (just in case that helps you visualize where we were at). The main building has probably been there for a year or more. Then there are two larger buildings that have just opened. The rest of the “village” is under construction. I was worried it would be noisy because of that but it wasn’t.

The building we stayed in just opened the day we arrived and we were the first ones to stay in our condo. That was kind of exciting at first but then I realized if my kids spilled something we couldn’t say it was there when we got there!!! I was, from there on out, constantly worried we would ruin something!

After we got our room keys we drove over to our building, figured out where to park, grabbed a couple things and headed up to the 13th floor to check out our new digs. This is the living room as you walk in the door.

IMG_0628.jpg

Here is the full kitchen.

IMG_0629.jpg

This is Abby’s bedroom. Sorry it’s dark. She had a queen bed and her own TV… whenever we were in the condo that is where she was. :cloud9: She would emerge for food and water and nothing else!

IMG_0630.jpg

This is the boy’s bedroom. It had twin beds and an even bigger TV than Abby’s! Yes, they measured. Picture them holding up their arms to their TV and then going to her room and comparing to hers. They had great fun taunting her about it too. :lmao:

IMG_0632.jpg

This is the secondary bathroom.

IMG_0631.jpg

This is the master bedroom.

IMG_0633.jpg

And the master bath. OOOhhh laa laaaaa.

IMG_0634.jpg

A funny story about the bathtub. I didn’t use it but the boys did. I filled it about half way up and they both climbed in. It was so deep that they kept floating! They wanted to use their swim masks in there because it was “kinda like swimming”. It was really funny.

Here are some pretty things they did with the towels. No, not towel animals... but still something!

IMG_0641.jpg

IMG_0642.jpg

Moving along… here is a view from the balcony. That is I-4. We could see Sea World from there but this shot doesn’t show it.

IMG_0636.jpg

Another view from the building but this is from the corridor. You probably can’t make it out but right in the center way out on the horizon is a blurry blob that is actually the Contemporary!

IMG_0643.jpg

Nah, you can't see it. Trust me, it was there!

We were very impressed with the condo. It was beautiful and huge and it was nice to not feel like we were piled in on top of each other like we normally are when we go on vacation. The boys were relaxing in their room while Tom brought the rest of our stuff up. They were sprawled out on their beds, legs crossed with their arms behind their heads, watching TV. Evan said to me, “Mom, I think this is how rich people live.” It was cute. I think this is the first time one of them said “this is the best vacation EVER!” too. I heard that a lot this week.

It was approaching 2:00 and we hadn’t had lunch yet. We got ourselves ready to go eat and then head into The World! We drove up the street and decided on McDonald’s right outside the entrance into the resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd. We wanted to eat quick and it makes the kids happy! About halfway through lunch they noticed the sign across the street… that was too cute. Food really disappeared after that and they were ready to go!

We wound our way through the hotels and through downtown Disney until we arrived here:

IMG_0644-1.jpg

You can call me Buzz... I've always liked that you have your own special name for me. I mean it isn't as nice as say... princess... but I'm okay with that. :rolleyes1

:lmao:

Yes, the condo was very shwanky indeed. And for a mere $400+K we could buy the unit we stayed in! Like that is gonna happen!

I do admit that when we were heading out of MK each time though I longingly gazed at the resort monorail wishing I was getting on it instead. But... we saved like a gazillion dollars and that makes the big guy happy.

Hey... where is Sharky today???

We are always wondering if there is a truck stop ahead or if we should get gas where we are. Also always wondering what restaurantas are ahead also. You think well we should eat here as we don't kow what' up ahead, well now we'll know! Thanks again so much!
