There have been a few episodes, including this past week, when Pete and others ranted a bit about folks who complain that their trips are ruined if a particular something doesn't happen or if they don't get to experience a certain thing. I totally agree with the team that EVERY trip to WDW is special and that it is what you make it.
Even though I love Disney and have been there 29 times so far, every trip is new and different. New rides, shows and attractions open pretty much every year. Old things get redone. New hotels, shops and restaurants open. And new things come about in the surrounding area. Also, being a parent, the trip is different each time we take our daughter. It was one experience when she was an infant and toddler, something else when she was a young child and a very different experience now that she is a teen.
It is simple to make every trip different and special and to make new memories. I think the simplest reason is that Disney World is far too big to see and do everything in any one trip. Even when we go for 2 weeks, we can't begin to do it all. Plus, we make it a point to do at least one new thing every trip. It might be a new Disney attraction. It might be eating somewhere we've never eaten. It might be visiting a hotel we've never been to. It might be an offsite attraction we've never done. Whatever. Just something to keep things new and fresh. Last year we went to Kennedy Space Center. The year before we did the Florida Zipline Safari. The year before that we did an airboat ride on Lake Toho. A couple of years ago we went to Saratoga Springs, had lunch there and did the DVC tour. There are endless possibilities.
