Hi All,

We will be in WDW for my DS 7th birthday. I did not have much luck searching birthday perks at the official website other than some birthday cruise. I've heard of people wearing badges or something... I'd love to hear about some experiences...
Best,
Amy

We went to Disney last August and it was my daughter's 3rd birthday at the time. We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas. My son told the cast members at the front desk of my daughter's upcoming birthday. The day of her birthday, they came to our room with a balloon bouquet and an autographed picture of Mickey Mouse. It was adorable, and my daughter was so suprised/happy!! We celebrated her birthday at Chef Mickey's. They do a wonderful job of making the birthday child feel special. She got an autographed placemat and Mickey, Goofy, Minnie and Chip and Dale dance and come to the table with a cupcake with a candle in it. It's alot of fun.

We celebrated both my DD's and my DS's birthdays last summer. Our trip overlapped both birthdays.
I let CMs know we were celebrating everytime I made a ressie or PS.

When we checked in at SSR my son quietly asked me if he could have charging priveleges since it was his birthday. Well, the CM overheard him and started asking him questions. He was talking about his and DSister's birthdays, she must have noted it. The next day when we returned from MK there were birthday bouquets and autographed pics for both kids.
They both wore birthday buttons. My DD got a phone call from Goofy while we were in the GF gift shop, he sang "Happy Birthday" to her. She was grinning from ear to ear.
I also bought her a cake shaped birthday hat. DS was too cool for that, but I had made him a birthday hat at home that he wore. It was a white bucket hat that I attached embroidered Mickey and pals decals onto.
Both kids also had birthday t-shirts on.

Strangers would come up and start singing to them, CM's sang to them. Both got free trading pins from CM's, we got free fastpasses, cupcakes. They got autographed placemats. The members of Kristos at Epcot saw my son's button and posed with the kids then wished them happy birthday!
It was just a great week for the kids.
My DD's birthday was the beginning of our week, DS's the end. If one got a cupcake, the server always brought another for the other.

At the customer relations desks in all parks you can pick up a pin that says "Today's my Birthday". All cast members will greet your child with a happy birthday. When my DN had his on they let him ride Test Track two times in a row.

Hi!

My DS will be 7 while at Disney World in June/July this summer - I was planning to have a Birthday Breakfast at Chef Mickey on July 1st :cool1: I heard they really go all out. I am also planning to reserve the Pirate Cruise for all 3 boys. Also, remember to get the Birthday buttons at all parks - the CM really go out of their way to make the Birthday Boy feel extra special :cheer2:

Have a great time!
Ely

if you celebrate a birthday at chef mickey's do you have to make PS's way in advance? And which meal do all of you recommend for the birthday celebration-Breakfast, lunch or dinner? my DS will be turning 5 while we're at Disney in the fall.

we have celebrated a few birthdays in wdw.

my fiance's, i requested a happy birthday phone call from goofy when we checked in at akl, prerecorded message but still cute. i ordered a birthday cake for his favorite dinner location at le cellier steakhouse in canada. which you can do by request for a fee in advance at most signature wdw restaurants. we also ate at chef mickeys, they gave him a cupcake & even made him dance in the parade, it was hilarious & a great picture. and i got a wdw birthday badge for him during our stay.

as a family we have celebrated my mom's birthday at the hoop dedoo revue at fort wilderness, where they call on bday guests. we also had personalized mickey ears she wore as a birthday gift from dtd, and purchased a personalized tshirt that said "i'm the birthday girl" "november __" "walt disney world trip" through the disneystore.com now disneydirect.com, with the princess pattern. she still wears it!

as well as a young cousin on a family reunion in 2000, his parents, my aunt & uncle threw a arcade birthday party at the boardwalk for him & younger family members. they closed the arcade for like 2 hours in the afternoon on free play, had lunch, bday cake & goodie bags. he also wore the bday badge during our stay & the cm's made a fuss.

Thanks for all the information! We are taking DS to Disney in December for his 5th birthday. We will be there a few weeks before his 5th birthday but the travel agent said it would be fine to pick a day to celebrate his 5th birthday while there! We plan on doing dinner at Chef Mickeys. How far in advance do you have to order a birthday cake?

:bday:
We will be there for my son's 7th birthday. We will be in the car on his bday, but we are celebrating all week long!!

That is so exciting isn't it? We are celebrating our dd's 4th birthday while we are there too. We are arriving in FL the day of her birthday and have booked the Gala Feast with Cinderella as this is her favourite person in the whole wide world right now!! :lovestruc We are going to order a cake from the GF bakery so it will be brought to our table after dinner. She doesnt' know about this and I'm REALLY hoping that we will get either a song or some good birthday wishes from the characters, esp. Cinderella!!

Can you have them have a birthday badge on a day that isn't their birthday when you are the parks? Her actual birthday is on the Monday, but we probably won't make it to the parks (we're offsite) until the Wednesday as we want a day of enjoying our home rental before we go. If so, I'd love for her to have the badge as she would be so proud being 4 and all!!!

I can hardly wait ... I think I'm more excited than her!!! :p
