Every year the kids and I make a bank for vacation. We decorated ours with all kinds of disney stuff. We save change throughout the year and then roll it and the kids use this for their special spending money at Disney. It is a lot of fun and it keeps us excited about vacation even if it is far away. Today was a perfect day for it.(It was a snow day! There was no school.) I was wondering.. What do other families do to keep things exciting for there trip?(even if it is a long time:sad: )

Both of my boys have Pickle jars that have been washed and they decorate them with construction paper sleeves. Last year my oldest saved over 100.00 in his jar! I think he had more spending money than me. This year the jars are decorated for the beach. While we wait for Disney we look at pictures and our previous videos, And they hear mommy go on and on with her crazy Disney talk.

Thanks for replying I love hearing what other people do to keep the magic going!:cloud9:

We live in military housing- one of the perks that we used to have was free utilities. They have since changed that. Now we are given an allotment of money that we are allow to use for our electricity- if we use less then we get a refund- if we go over we have to pay. We told the kids that if they help keep lights turned off and help us save- whatever we get that month we will put aside for our "Disney Souvenir " fund. Unfortunately we won't be able to go until summer of 2010 BUT they have been saving us around 60 a month so by the time we get there will not only have PLENTY for souvenirs but maybe will have some to do some of the extras.

Thats a great idea!
