well, just got off the phone w/cm about upcoming adrs and they are doing a new ressie system. i always make my adrs @ work so i usually don't have my reservation #, etc. well, this started today: in order to make an adr you have to have your reservation # and we have a TIW card and she needed the number off of that!!! craziness!!:scared1: she looked up my ressie @ pop and got my number. luckily, i got my restaurants i needed!!
good luck!

Interesting! Thanks for the info! (What's a TIW card?)

That would imply people staying off-site cannot make ADRs and that it is now only for Disney guests.

ack! i hope not! i have a friend going to wdw in a couple of weeks & staying off-site and i'll be seeing her later today-hoping to convince her to make some adr's!

i don't know, all the adrs i've made, i've never encountered this one before.

I would assume that if you want to utilize the 90 + 10 you'd have to have your reservation # so they could confirm you were definitely a guest before allowing the +10.

sooooo...if a person will be checking in within the next 3 weeks, would they be allowed to make ADR's?

That cannot be true. OP - were you making your 90+ reservations? You would need a Disney resort reservation to do that. However, ANYONE, Disney resort guest or not CAN MAKE DINING RESERVATIONS!!!!! I stay offsite all the time these days and make my dining plans just like anyone else. The only difference is that I cannot make all my reservations in one phone call, I have to call back for each day's reservation. That's the only difference.

Yeah, in the old days, they just asked which hotel you were staying at to get the 90 + 10 & when your check-in date is. But they've been asking for the Disney hotel reservation numbers for the 90+10 ressies for several weeks now...at least since mid-February when they started using the new system on some reservations. It's apparently part of the new computer system that is being used for reservations on May 26th and after.

The new dining system does require your resort res # and your ADR's will be put in with your resort reservation. Having the number is preferred but it can be looked up without the number by last name, resort and arrival date. The new system will ONLY let you book within those days and as long as you are 90 days out + 10 and staying at a Disney resort. If your res can't be found you would be considered a "day guest" and would be able to book up to 90 days in advance. The new system starts with reservations on 26 May and beyond EXCEPT CRT & CM. On the top of this section you will find a very helpful post by a mod with all the info on the new system.

:)

1. what if you end up cancelling your ON site reservation to stay off site?
2. What if I won't have my TIW card number until I buy my AP when I am there in June?

I was asked this the last couple of times, I didn't have to have it but I was asked and that was 9/08 and 1/09 stays.

I just did this for my son's reservation (he's going to stay with friends instead) and asked specifically if it would cancel his dinner reservations because some of them are with us! I was told no, the dinner reservations will not automatically cancel...if I want to cancel dinner reservations, I would have to do that separately even though the hotel reservation is no longer in there.

Thanks - I didn't think they would automatically connect or should I say disconnect the 2.

You don't need your TiW # to book ADRs. If you're asked, I'd just say you don't have one and leave it at that. You tell the server at the restaurant that you have one, but it shouldn't have anything to do with your reservation.

And I've given my resort reservation # for quite a long time when using the 90+10 window to book ADRs. That's the only way they can tell whether you qualify for the "+10" on-site guest benefit.

If you're within the 90 days, it's not necessary to give your reservation #.

Does this mean that on site guests don't get to make their ADRs ahead of non site guests anymore?

That's just sad... they keep whining about losing money, but then they cut the perks for spending 3 times the cash it would take to stay off property. Cutting things that don't cost them money to boot. I thought they were supposed to be smart?

Onsite guest were never really able to make their dining reservations ahead of non site guests. The only difference is that an onsite guest can make their reservations with one phone call which is the 90 + 10 days feature.

Example - onsite guest going June 1-7 so calls 90 days in advance (say March 1st for simplicity). That guest can make ALL of their reservations with one phone call. They can make June 1st, June 2nd, June 3rd, etc. even though it's not officially 90 days before that June 2nd reservation.

The off site guest would have to call March 1st for June 1st, March 2nd for June 2nd, March 3rd for June 3rd, etc.

Off site guests means a lot more than just people staying in non Disney resorts. You have a lot of locals as well.
