Making ADR's

My 90 day mark is tomorrow for reservations but I am unsure about something: Right now my DH, DS and myself are going but there is a very strong possibility that 2 more family members will join us so should I make my ADR's for 3 or for 5? But what would be a better (or safer) scenario making a reservation for 5 and then change to 3 people if they can't make it or make the reservation for 3 and change it to 5 when they confirm?

I would make it for 5. It is easier to get a smaller table than a larger table if your numbers change.

Totally agree. Must easier to go down in party size than to increase it. Especially with your number of people. Adding two more would more than likely require adding an extra table.
