Just make the reservation for everyone in your party. No need to split things up just because you are on the dining plan.
As noted, if your party is a large one, you might be told that your party COULD be split up. That's because Disney reserves things based on tables, not number of people. For example, my party of twelve was really three parties of four but we all sat together anyway. the splitting up of a large party usually is not a problem at all.
The only downfall to making one reservation for all is that in most cases (probably all), the entire party will need to be present before you are seated.[/QUOTE]
