Making ADR's while at WDW

We have made our ADR's for our Sep 23 to Oct 2 trip, and because of the free dining plan, we are having a hard time making changes to our ADR's. Do you know if Disney sets aside reservation times for people who are already down in the WDW area? I thought maybe I would have better luck trying to change our ADR's on the first day we arrive at WDW. What do you think?

It's always worth a try, because you just never know.

We were down there two weeks ago and on the day I had ADR's for Mama Melrose we were scheduled to eat at 5:40. It was just a little too early for us, and I called a few times before we'd left home to see if anything had opened up...nothing.

On the day of the ADR, from our WL room, I called in the morning and voila'! Later times were available and I switched to 6:40.

except for cindy's breakfast i have been able to change or add dining while at wdw. however, this was before the free dining plan. good luck!
