Making ADRs for your whole trip - only need to ring once?

Hello,

I've just read something on another website about ADRs...

Our trip is 15th December - 3rd January.

Therefore, the soonest I can ring for an ADR is 18th June (i.e. 180 days before 15th December).

According to someone, on the 18th June, I can actually make all my ADRs for our whole trip (even though this means that many will be booked over 180 days in advance). They said that this new system was introduced a while back, and makes it alot easier, as you don't have to make numerous phone calls.

I don't know if this is still an option to those people who haven't booked directly with the Disney company. We booked with Virgin Holidays, but we are staying at Disney's Pop Century resort.

Does anyone know if this information is correct? Do you have any experiences of it?

If I could make all my ADRs in one phone call, that would be so much easier.

Any comments/info would be much appreciated.

Yep, Yep, Yep, I booked all of my adr's in one go!:thumbsup2 be prepared to spend 1/2 hour on phone call, and you may need Credit card for some res.

You have made my day

Thanks alot for that info.

Oh, by the way, did they ask for your holiday booking reservation number?

hi does that apply if you are not spending your whole holiday at a disney resort (we are starting at the poly but then moving off site)???

thanks

Actually, technically, that information is incorrect. Essentially, you can only make ADRs 180 days before the date you check in and then for a further 10 days of your vacation. If you are staying more than 10 days, then you may not be able to make any ADRs for that time.

I am not saying you definitely won't be able to as people have reported they have actually been able to make ADRs before the 180-day window.

Amy, in answer to your question, I suspect the policy is that you shoul donly be able to use the rule for the period in which you are staying on-site but, unless they specifically check, I imagine you may be able to make 10 days' worth of ADRs too.

thanks Joh for that !

I guess I'll try for the 10 days first - would you then just ring for the rest of the ADR's when 180 days before the final day arrives (if that makes any sense at all!!!:rotfl:) or would you ring every day?

In other words do things get booked up as soon as they become available or can you afford to wait a week or so and do it all together???

thanks ever so (Never had the experience of ADr's before!!!)

Amy, I think it really all depends when you are going and what places you are talking about. Some of the popular places, like CRT and Le Cellier, will get booked up quickly but I can't imagine you having too much difficulty getting in somewhere as long as you are near to 180 days beforehand. Personally, I would prefer to make all mine in one go so would probably just wait until 180 days before my last ADR, unless I desperately wanted to get CRT or Le cellier and couldn't afford to be flexible with dates and times. I think, personally, as long as you can be fairly flexible, you are likely to get what you want anyway.

Completely agree with Joh - I used to be quite obsessive about making these on the first possible day I could. However, I would usually then go on to change my mind at least twelve times after that ;) and even when changing ADRs as close as a month before, had no problem getting the times (more or less) and the actual locations I wanted.

There are exceptions to this for the more popular restaurants and at the busiest times of year but mostly you'll be fine.

One thing I would say - anyone going when free dining is on offer - do make your ADRs before you arrive! Last August there were some very unhappy people at POFQ who tried to make ressies when they arrived and basically hardly any restaurants had availability on the day(s) they tried to book. I seem to remember they ended up with Chef Mickey's twice because there wasn't much availability anywhere else.

Hi Karen!!!:thumbsup2

We are only thinking of a few anyway - probably Chef Mickeys for breakfast, Crystal Palace for breakfast and O'Hana for Dinner. (We just love Red Lobster, Outback etc too much to eat too much in the parks!!!)

Although I might do Sci-fi for lunch so that Kai can see the drive -in cars!!! But as long as I'm flexible with dates I guess I'll be ok with those??!!

Amy, you will definitely be OK to wait to book any of those, I would think. May is not THAT busy anyway and I wouldn't think you would have any problems at all getting in.

I agree with Joh again (sorry Joh do you feel stalked? ;) )

We really liked the Sci Fi Diner Amy - the food was only OK but we did have a lovely cocktail or three :teeth:
