Making ADR to Cinderella Royal Table

I am going to make a reservation for Cinderella Royal table tomorrow. If I get a better reservation for the next day when I call, can I cancel my prior reservation even though I've already paid for it and make the new reservation for a day later?

I tried to do exactly this. I made ADR for CRT prior to adding DDP. My credit card was immediately charged the full price.
I later tried to get a better ADR time and was told that I would be recharged in full and they would refund me when I got to resort. A refund can take up to a month.
I decided to keep the original ADR.
So were you charged already or will be in a couple of days or are you already on the DDP?
