Hi,
I would like to make a booklet for my kids and give it to them at the airport when we leave Australia for our big trip to the US in November :cheer2: . My kids are girsl 11 & 12 and a boy 15.

I am looking for pages I can print with games, info, puzzles etc. for DL and anything else I can find relevant to our trip.

We are doing LA (universal studios), San Diego (sea world and zoo), Coast drive LA- SF, the touristy sies in SF and Yosemite.

I would also like to buy them a book to read which is set in CA. or the US in general.
Have found " Molly Moon stops the world" (set in LA Hollywood) which would be great for either the 11 or the 13 y/o. The 15 y/o will be difficult :confused3 !!

Does anyone have any ideas for either the booklet or some good chapter books??

I really want to make this trip something special for the kids and create life long memories!!

I am so excited. Only 125 more sleeps to go!

Thanks everyone

Thanks Both of you!

This kind of thing is really fun to do, and hopefully my 15 y/o boy will feel like a kid again, at least long enough to get a kick out of it!

http://www.disneywarehouse.com/Coloring/coloringtest.shtml I have bookmarked for coloring pages (of course, our kids are a bit younger ...).

For the 15 yo, for DL, you might look into the Virtual Magic Kingdom aka VMK (if he is a fan of computers). They actually have 'quests' you can do at Disneyland as well. Might help to build up his excitement if he sees DL as too much for 'kids'.

(you might have a differnet page to access in Australia ... just guessing as this has a "US" in it.)

There have to be some good books which take place in the "American old west" including San Francisco (not knowing what kind of books your son might like). But I'm not coming up with any.

Here is a list of a variety of books set in SF

Here are some award winners from CA:

And, if more into TV-
Shows in SF:

LA:

(Wikipedia has other cities as well, if you are traveling beyond CA.)

If you are going to Alcatraz in SF ... make sure to pre-buy your tickets (well, you might not have to in November). And SF will be COLD (SF sells lots of tourists sweatshirts because they think "California=warm"). Yosemite will be very cold!

California, especially LA and SF, have a little bit of everything, so I'd suggest finding things related to their current interests (again ... especially the 15 year old). Music, movies, TV, computers, nature, sports ... are all easy to find in CA.

Have a great time!
