Making a T-Rex Reservation?

I read in other thread that you can call T-Rex Cafe directly to make your reservation more then 90 days in advance.
I have a few questions and hope someone can answer them.

Can I make a reservation today for Sept 15th?

Do they give you a reservation number like disney does?

When you show up for your reservation do you have to wait in the long line to check in or just walk up to the booth and tell them you have a ressie?

Any other advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. This will be the only resturant that DH and I will pay out of pocket for since we have free dining.
We will probably split an entree and dessert.

Yes you can make a reservation, I believe their ressies go 6 months out. They will give you a reservation confirmation, ours was our last name. Not really sure about getting seated on time or not? Ours are a little later than we wanted, so we are going to go earlier and just see about getting seated earlier. Its our first night, so we'll wander around DTD soaking it in if we can't

I called at the end of May for a Thanksgiving week reservation. The reservationist called it a 'priority seating' and took our last name. We received no confirmation number, which frankly makes me a little nervous! We are also paying OOP for this meal since it is not on the dining plan.

I don't know about check-in but am hoping someone else can answer. I'm curious, too!

When I made the rest of my dining reservations at 90 days out (this past sunday), I asked if I could make my T-rex res through them and she said yes and made it, I received a regular disney conf. number.

I was trying to make a reservation for next Thursday. I called Disney first and they only had 3:00 available. Next I called T-Rex directly and got a 4:45.

I made ours last Monday for 9/12 (so 91 days out). They had lots of times to choose from, and said my last name is my confirm. code.

According to recent posts you can now make reservations through WDW-DINE for both T-Rex and the Rainforest Cafe but you are limited to 90 days in advance. If you call T-Rex directly (not so sure about RFC) you can make reservations there up to 180 days ahead.
