Has anyone every used the DVC website to make their reservation? I was wondering how quick they were in getting back to you. I filled out a request earlier today, and I am not sure if I should just call. I'm not sure if calling now would mess things up with the on-line request.

Thanks, new to all of it.

Won't conflict with your email request. Response time can vary, but they only tell you if what you want is available. You need to speak to member services to confirm reservation, so you might as well call.

That is not accurate. I used the website earlier this month and heard back within a couple of days via e-mail and have since received the confirming letter from DVC. It is just like all of my previous confirmation letters and does not ask me to call to confirm directly (neither did the e-mail)

I would agree that if you are inside of the 7 month window or looking at a very high demand time, call.

Hope this clears things up.

I have occasionally used the website/email to book. But it was for low demand time frames. It usually took 2 to 3 days to hear back with the confirmation. For busy holiday time frames, I would call.

I decided to just call since it was for President's week. I was able to book the dates and room type.

Thanks for the advice.

I've used the website to make a reservation request a number of times. Last week, I had an email back the next day - that was the single quickest response ever! Mostly, it takes 2-3 days to get a response. If I am booking for a busy time, I would usually call instead. That way, if my first or second choice isn't available I don't waste 2 or 3 days waiting to find that out, but have the CM at member services look around and see what might work. :)

I've used the online booking only once. It took only a day or two, but they got the information very wrong and I had to call and spend a bit of time trying to correct it. It was definitely not worth it. Easier to call.

I perfer the online method unless I'm trying to book a holiday period. This past spring I received same day response when booking a 1 BR VWL unit for my DH and DS. I was trying to book in March for a July stay. The CM who responded gave me several options when my 1st option wasn't available. I was worried that going thru email, the other options would be gone, but not to worry. The response was very good and my DH/DS enjoyed a wonderful trip.
