Making a reservation for Dec 2017

I know this is early but I'm a big planner and want to make sure I have the correct date for making our reservation for December 2017. According to the points calculator I have, it shows me making our reservation on January 1st. Am I able to make my reservation online through the website if the office of member services is close due to the holiday? Do I have to wait till January 2nd?

Though MS will be closed, you can do it online at 8 a.m. Eastern on January 1, 2017 if arrival date is December 1, 2017 and you are reserving your home resort.

As you will be seeking THE highest DVC demand time of the year at WDW, it is advised that you do it exactly at 8 a.m., 11 months out from date of arrival if seeking any of the following: AKV value or club level, BLT standard view, BWV standard or boardwalk view studios or 2BRs, VGF studios.

You can call DVC. and ask for the right amount of points. I did for November 27 to december 3 for animal kingdom
And they give me all the points that I need from value to savannah.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting a reservation that begins on December 1 for a 1 bedroom lake view if you make it on January 1st. It's the standard view studios that might be a problem, not the 1 bedroom lake views. Also, your reservation willbegin on a Friday, so that's in your favor, too. Good luck (although I don't think you'll need it).
