Making a little money on the side?

I was just wondering if anyone has really experimented much with doing any sort of internet-based side jobs (or maybe even full-time jobs!). DH was successful at obtaining a virtual assistant job through Elance, but I've never had much luck on there. I recently read an article about performing transcription work through Quicktate, Verbal Ink, and Focus Forward. Has anyone used any of these sites with success? Thought it might not be a bad way to make a little extra money for Disney! :scratchin

Any other side-job/online work anyone recommends?

You have listed three businesses which hire skilled independent contractors to perform transcription work. It is not easy work.

What kind of education do you have. In college I used to make some extra money tutoring middle school
High school kids in math. Parents want to see a resume/course load from college.

Oh I don't doubt that for a minute! I do have a background in editing though, and I know a lot of companies are always looking for legal transcriptionists as well. I just didn't know if anyone had worked with them and actually found the time input is worth it. Or any of the virtual assistant type jobs, etc.

I have a legal background, which is what made me think the legal transcription work would be a good fit for me. Tutoring kids is a definite no go for me, but I could see how that would be a good money maker!

What are your credentials. Did you go to law school. Maybe you can tutor writing. I used to make $45 hr to tutor which was great.

Yes, I did go to law school. I think I'd rather not do something like tutor though and focus on my editing background instead. My idea of a great day doesn't really include talking law all day, and then going home and talking more law hahaha. I think listening to it would be easier :scratchin
