I plan to call WDW Mail Order later this week and order some goodies for my niece (and my sister and her hubby) for our upcoming trip. Sis has been to WDW - her last trip was in 1994. Her husband nor their daugher have ever been. The daughter is only 1.5, so I'm thinking light up stuff, or a blanket, or something like that for her...

So, I'm planning to get:
*Autograph pen and book
*Pressed penny book

Help me think of some other (not too expensive) items I can add. I'd like to make this a decent sized "welcome" basket. I'd like to give the stuff to them a week or so before we head down so they can get a little more excited about the trip. (They aren't as Disney-fied as most of us are on the DIS...)

What recommendations do you all have? I'm open to ANY ideas!
Thanks!

maybe a cute little outfit to wear...like a princess outfit or even just a tshirt.

A disposable camera so that she can have her "own" camera for character photos.

stickers

a disney stuffed animal for her to sleep with while you're there

A princess hat to keep the sun off her face.
Mickey ears with her name embroidered on the back.Don't know if they will do it for a preorder.
Disney beach towel.

We just did a trip with my sil and bil and neice & nephew ages 1.5 and 3.5 and had a blast. My sil went to the disney store beforehand and got some neat things for them - much less expensive than in the park or disney direct. They would be ideal for your bag, great ide btw.

She found the spinning light up toys, princess for neice and buzz for nephew, $12-$18 at the parks, on sale for $5 at the disney store. Just another tip tip, my sil used "older" batteries in the 1 1/2 yo' spinner as it spun way to fast for her with new batteries!! The 3yo was fine with full force. The favorite toy of both was a "cellphone" with lots of lights and gadgets and sounds and IIRC the princess one lit up.

The T'shirts were on sale at 5 for 10 so they each got new disney t's for the trip.

If you have one nearby definately browse the disney store for your bag, if not hit disney direct.com and look at the sale items before calling the merchandising number.

Have fun- I am probably going to do this for my sister and new brother in law. They are taking a trip in Feb as a late honeymoon and have done alot for our family.

Again - great ideas!!! I'm keeping a list of everything.

Think I'll head to the DS this week to see what they have in stock. Unfortunately we don't have a very large store, so online might be better...

Anyone else??

Oh, and as an FYI, I got my niece Disney Dollars for Christmas since I knew they were making this trip in 2005.

A cute princess crown to wear for dinner. Bathing suit, towel, and such. Something rubber such as acharacter so she can take in the bath or pool.
She will have a wonderful time just the way you are going about the trip she is lucky to have such a caring aunt!!! Have a magical time.

If you do buy the pressed penny book, a roll of quarters and a roll of shiny pennies would make a nice addition. :)

hi,

I actually did this for a little on before,,,here were a few of her favorites,,,,

small disney back pack (hers was bear in the big blue house)
lollipops (our dollar store has princess and micky bags of them)
small pack of crayons
small coloring book for her to scribble in (walmart has disney ones)
my first princess dolls (they are like the doll Kelly from barbie and friends - walmart and target both have them)
princess fun fruit snacks (also they have pooh ones)
packs of goldfish
disney sippy cup
disney beanie baby
tiny koosh balls (sometimes they are in the machines at the market for .25)
disney stickers
kiddie sized poncho
glow necklaces from the dollar store
light up sparkly toy or tiny flashlight(not the noisy spinny kind...for in rides and shows when it was dark, this would distract her, but not annoy those close by)
tiny disney books
bubbles (those tiny bottles from the party store worked well)
disney kiddie jewlry - loved necklaces

she mainly love putting the things in and out of her back pack,,,it was so cute!!! no matter what, she will LOVE it!!

wendy princess:

Are they planning to do pin trading? We loved it but my dd is older (4). Maybe some starter pins & a lanyard.

Bubbles!! Great while they have to wait in line!!

Glow necklaces, dd wore one every night & during the day for the "dark" rides!

Sunscreen.

Mini magnadoodle.

Stickers.

For the parents: Clothespins (we had a zillion different uses for them), Shout stain wipes, ponchos (just in case), soda plastic lids (put a mickey bar stick thru the straw hole & it catches drips).

Have fun putting it together. They are going to love it!

Gosh! How in the world will I choose from all of this GREAT stuff???!!!

Thanks for all of the ideas. I think I'll use some of the ideas for my kids (6 and 2) who could appreciate the older stuff, and fill a GREAT basket for my niece, sister and her hubby!

Thanks again!!

these ideas are great - I added a note that I printed for my kids that said welcome to the magic (from Mickey and Minnie) they LOVED that - but you have to be willing to give up credit

I got each of my kids personalized sweatshirts (you could do t-shirts too) from Disneydirect.com. The sweatshirts were on sale for $6.99 and they arrived in a couple days. The names look great! The boys got Buzz Lightyear and my little princess got what else, the disney princesses.

Disney PJ's
Disney toothbrush

Tabletopper Placemats, disposable sippy cups, disposable toddler silverwear, Huggie dispoable changing pads, travel sized wipes, Palmolive dish wipes(preloaded with soap).

I brought along some Huggies "convertable" diapers for my youngest. They can be used as pull ups (easy to put on on-the-go) or used as regular diapers and they are Pooh themed.

Britta fill n go bottle, bottle holder/strap....

Crystal Light on the go packets

Here's some I haven't heard...

Disney Princess Pillowcase--Target or Walmart should have these
Fisher Price My First Princess Doll--Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid
SwimSuit CoverUp--I found Princess ones at The Disney Store
Tupperware Princes Sipper Cups--check eBay
Princess or Mickey Gummies--Kellogg's brand in Target, Walmart, etc.
Mega Blocks (like Lego) has really cute DP sets out now--TOO CUTE!! One set has Cinderella's carriage and another set is Little Mermaid. Great to play with in the hotel room--big pieces for a 1.5 year old

Thought of another item when I saw Disney sunglasses at CVS. I had bought my DD Tigger sunglasses on her first trip at the big shop in Toon Town. When I got home I saw the exact same ones at CVS. I didn't see any Tigger at CVS on Friday but they had pink Piglet ones and cute Princess ones too.

That would be an easy item to add to the basket! Thanks! :cool1:
