I have tried it seems everything for my oily skin.....
About every cleanser , moisturizer and foundation....nothing seems to work!
Everything from Drugsotre to High end Dept stores... :confused3 :worried:

Any advice to help with the oil (and some breakouts?) for cleansers, moisturizers and Foundations?

You mention the high-end dept stores - have you gotten a consultation at one of the cosmetic counters? That's where I would start - it worked for me and my dry skin.

I had gone to Clinique a couple of years ago and I was a stickler with the recommended products and it just didn't seem towork for me.

I am very frustrated.
I also had a consult with Mary Kay and Avon...same thing happened.

Then, I just tried a bunch on my own.....

Check out www.arbonne.com I use the antiaging line and I love it. They also have other lines for different types of skin. Let me know if you need help. PM me if you do.
Thanks,
Lisa

OK, this may get me flamed here, but after many years of dealing with oily skin I've finally found a solution: Dove soap and Oil of Olay Complete with SPF 15. That's it. I'm very happy. :worship:

My daughter has VERY oily skin and suffers with breakouts occassionally (she's 26). I am going to recommed Dove soap and Oil of Olay for oily skin to her. But have you tried the products at www.lush.com. It is a Canadian company who has few stores in the US but does have FABULOUS products for all kinds of skin. Mine happens to be dry and I live in Colorado so I use "Dream Cream" all the time. But they have great products for oily skin too. Take a peek, you might find something you like.

I, too, have extremely oily skin and lots of breakouts- I never found any over-the-counter products that worked. Went to a dermatologist, and he cleared me right up! Since I have PPO insurance and a prescription plan, it didn't cost too much. These doctors are the ones who know what to do- they really can help.

No flames from me, my routine is very similar! I don't use the Dove bar soap though, I use the Daily Exfoliating cleanser and Olay Complete - the one with the SPF 15. It has worked well for me, and I am also someone who has always had issues with oily skin and breakouts.

To the OP, make sure you are not using products with lots of alcohol...Clinque toners are notorious for that! Alcohol is just very irritating for your skin, but unfortunately, is found in many skin care products, especially those aimed at acne and oily skin. There are lots of other irritants that can be found in many products, things like menthol, certain plant extracts, etc. There is a website run by a woman named Paula Begoun, she has an plan with how to deal with these kinds of skin problems...also, you can look up virtually any ingredient and see what potential problems it could cause or what it does in general. It's www.cosmeticscop.com

As far as make up, I am a fairly recent Bare Minerals convert, (since August) they sell it at Sephora stores. It is fairly expensive, but well worth it, I think.

But have you tried the products at www.lush.com.
I have not tried those, but over the years I've bought all types of different products and I ended up throwing them away. After I had my twins, I hadn't the time (or money, LOL) to spend futsing around with it anymore, so I wound up just using the soap in the tub - Dove. :teeth:

I always used Oil of Olay, and yes, Aurora, I just checked the bottle and that's what I use too ;) (will edit above).

You may actually be over-cleansing your skin. Sometimes skin over-compensates by producing more oils in response.

I use Origins mint wash religiously. It takes off all the oil in my T-zone area & makeup without over drying the dry parts. Go to an Origins counter & ask for a free sample. They also have a non-oily SPF moisturizer.

Also try Sephora if there is a store by you. They give out gererous little sample pots of all their products. :flower: I have a couple of sample eye creams to last me 2 MONTHS! You'll get just enough moisturizer or cleansers to test out for a few days to see if you have a reaction. :cool1:

hhmmmm....
something as simple as Dove and Oil of Olay Complete...
and no oily skin anymore???

I most recently have been using the Oil of Olay cleanser in the purpleish container...I haven't used it long enough to know if it will owrk...

I may give the simple dove and Olay cream a try....

I am just soooo frustrated!
I also considered the Bare Minerals makeup but heard that it didn't stay all day on the skin like some were hoping..that is, on oily skin.
