Makes me cringe

or the 'we are only going for 3-4 days', we thought we might get bored if we stayed longer.

That is the one that bugs me the most. A friend took her 2 kids to Orlando (her DH was attending a convention) a year ago and only scheduled one day for WDW. ONE DAY! She said that she went with her family in the '80's, and didn't think there was "enough stuff to keep us busy for more than a day". I tried to tell her about all the stuff that has been added IN THE LAST 25 YEARS, but she wasn't buyin' it. Oh, well.

I felt sorry for those kids- they missed out on so much. Some people just don't get it.

It grates on my nerves when people spend a fortune on a vacation and don't even take the time to do a few internet searches to have a little info before vacationing. That's how I found the DIS (even though I started my searches a year before our vacation).

Oh and another one was from some co-workers who thought 9 days at WDW was too much.

This one gets me too. I can't believe the number of people I came across at Disneyland and WDW (in July both times) that were mad because there were a lot of people there and they couldn't get into______ (insert attraction, restaurant). When they get really rude, I just ask them if they did even one minute of planning. In this day of the internet it is too easy to do a little research.

Oh they haven't made any reservations yet. No room, no adr's, no plans for a trip in August and they do plan on staying on Disney property.

I feel the same way about people who book a cruise, then wait until the last minute to think about what they should do in each port. This was posted at Cruise Critic on July 10 about a British Isles cruise:

We are leaving July 19th on Crown Princess. We do not want to take the boat excursions, but want to go on our own. Are there any excursions outside the boat? Also, how far are the cities from the dock? Walking or taxis? Ports are Greenock, Invergordon, So. Queensferry, Liverpool, Cork, and Dublin. I appreciate any info you can give me. Thank you.

You can stumble around a Disney theme park and still manage to see quite a bit of it. But who goes to Europe and waits until the week before to decide what to do?

I've gone to taking the high road. I usually just "smile and wave", unless the prod me for information. I've helped many people plan trips, but if someone just asks me about it I say little. If they seem to really want to know I will give them some websites. If they ask for more help I will actually book dining, hotels and make them an itenrary if they want that much help.

My brother and his family went at Thanksgiving two years ago. They made no reservations after I told my brother that he would need to. They ended up eating McDonald's and room service for their Thanksgiving meal.
I have a friend going next April who has already asked for my help in planning her vacation like where to eat, etc.

My Grandfather LIVES in Florida. We always stay with him for a bit before we head off to Disney. And he ALWAYS calls it DisneyLAND. SO frustrating.

My dad has been to Disney World three times now and STILL calls it Disney LAND!!

It bothers me when people refer to the Magic Kingdom as "Disney."

As in ... the four parks at Disney World are "Disney," "Epcot," "MGM," and um..... "The animal park."

Grrrrrrrr.

It drives me crazy too and my DH does it all the time!!!!!

You all are right about those that don't plan anything. The people that I have talked to that didn't really like WDW din't plan a thing and then only spend a couple of days. I don't undstnad people spending so much money and then not preparing at all.

There are a couple of people at work who did the Disney World internship in their college days, so a lot of co-workers go to them for advice. What drives me nuts is when they give people the wrong information: i.e. recommending restaurants that are no longer open or saying the first week in December is a peak time & don't go then.
