Make Your Own Luck - March 2025 W.I.S.H. Thread

Is it Spring? Since I've moved it feels like there's been a lot of rain. I'm not sure if it is because the apartment is up and exposed where I can see and feel it and/or it's the difference in the weather patterns between here and where I was. Either way it doesn't feel Springy, but I am thankful the daffodils are blooming which does give a clue that it could possibly be Spring at some point.

My new deck chair seat cushions came and thankfully I really like them. I want to make some throw pillows to go with and was wondering what fabric the closest Joann's might still have, considering they are going out of business, and then remembered there's a fabric store right here in town... so thankful for this! Also thankful I've gone from having to gas up the car every week and a half to filling up every two and a half weeks, because I don't have to drive as far as often to get things done. And I'm thankful I can run errands to the area with the "modern" shopping during the weekday evenings, partly because the days are longer and partly because things are closer... this means the weekends aren't filling up with driving errands.

And thankful for having the girl's trip coming up, just a quick get-away but really needed.

I am so thankful that I finally got it together and have consistently eaten healthy and got extra steps in because I lost 10 pounds!!!

I am thankful that my new para is working collaboratively with the other kindergarten para. They each work with two classes covering all four kindergartens between the two of them. My previous para had a chip on her shoulder and didn’t work well with others. Seeing them working so well together is so refreshing.

Happy Friday everyone, wait wasn't it just yesterday that I wrote about being so happy it was Friday? Where did the week go? I know I got some big things accomplished, but the week is just one big blur.

Tomorrow will be housekeeping stuff and getting out for a walk, then Sunday it's the girl's trip which extends into Monday, so next week will be a short work week. Woohoo for that.

It’s been a week…work is crazy and mercury retrograde is making everyone emotional. Trying to stay as mellow as possible and give everyone a bit extra grace.
Can’t wait to open the windows tomorrow and air out the house a bit!

It’s been a roller coaster week with mostly positive outcomes. Sadly my old para tried to seek revenge for her reassignment by posing as a stepmother of a child in 3rd grade and calling superintendent to complain about the school. She made up outrageous lies. When they looked up the student’s name, it didn’t exist. So, they traced her phone number and it came back to her. My principal is outraged because if the superintendent believed her accusations, multiple teachers would have lost their licenses to teach. Fortunately we know the truth, and she will be fired. I took it all very personally and was initially very hurt by this because I have been nothing but kind, supportive, and a great boss to her.

The kids have been quite wild lately…maybe it’s spring fever? They need to calm down though because we still have three months to go.

Today I am getting my much needed highlights…my dark blonde roots are really coming in. I am looking forward to looking more like myself.

I’m staying on track with my weight loss and celebrating the 10 pounds that came off during the last 5 weeks.

Happy Saturday!!!

I got Spring and am in total agreement. I love Spring. I would love for us to have Spring… some time soon. At least it isn’t raining today.

I’ve started today by cleaning out my purse and making sure I have my passport, so aside from taking a shower I’m basically ready to go.

A 10 year old FaceBook post popped up in my memories. My backyard was buried under a foot of snow.

I remember the Easter I was 5 years old and it snowed. I was devastated because my navy blue and daisy appliquéd Easter dress with matching spring coat and patent leather Mary Janes were not warm enough to wear to the restaurant for Easter brunch. I insisted on wearing them anyway, but they looked terrible with my snow boots!

Spring can be so unpredictable.
