I don't have time to do a "trial" on my makeup at Disney, so I'm thinking of going to Dillards or Macys to have them do "trials" on me, and then buy the makeup to do myself. Has anyone done this, and have any recommendations where the best place to do this would be?

TIA!

Kel

I would go to the MAC counter- they usually have one at Macy's.* I have done this before for parties and such, I never do as good as they do but it's fun, you learn something, and then you have the make-up again for other special occasions.* There is no cost but they do require you buy a certain amount of makeup... I think it's $40 worth- which you will easily spend.* I thought about doing this for my wedding as well but am too nervous I'll mess up... I figure having it done is one less thing to stress about on my wedding day.* With enough time to practice you should be fine... Let me know how it goes!

Do you normally do your own makeup for things? Are you good at it? The only reason I ask is because I could see myself crying on my wedding day saying I'm not getting married because I messed it up. It might be worth the peace of mind to hire someone. If you go with someone who is reputable and has good reviews here than you will probably be fine. I had a trial and I changed everything on the day of the wedding anyways and they did it perfect. I think the most important thing is to speak up if it is something you don't like. I used Anna from Beaute Special and she kept asking if I liked it. She also said that it doesn't hurt their feelings if you don't like it, they want you to be happy.

Kel who are you using down in Disney for makeup?

Thanks! I'll keep that one in mind! I don't mind paying the money...I just don't want to get stuck on my wedding day with a look that isn't "me"....I need time to find exactly what I want.

Thanks for the advise! I'm very simple, and do my own make up for all things. I know one thing I'm going to definitely invest in, and that's Model in a Bottle...I heard a lot of wonderful things about it on this site!

Well, I have Beaute Speciale booked, but I'm rethinking it, because I'm getting married at Shades of Green at Disney, and I'm going to need to get up really early to get the Gazebo ready. I'm just tying to think of other alterntives, to better manage my time...and also I'm afraid without having time for a trial, that I just won't look like "me".

Ok Kel. If you are going to use Beaute Speciale then go to a MAC counter (Ana uses Mac) and have them do a trial on you. You will have to buy $50 worth of products so get the products they use on you (like the shadows and lipstick) and write down what foundation and other things they used on you.

Email Ana a picture sometime before the wedding (also send her a picture of a hairstyle you want if you have one) of how you had your makeup done. If it makes you feel better bring the products you bought, I'm sure she will have them but just to be safe bring them and bring a list of what the artist at the counter used on you (email them to her too).

I think that will make you feel better.....Ana will listen to what you tell her so don't worry. She listened to everything I asked for. If you don't like it as shes going along just tell her and she will change it for you.

HTH

I was also worried about not looking like "me," so Patricia LeJeune worked with me to get the look I wanted - even on the wedding day, we changed things. I can understand about not feeling like you have time to have your makeup done, though.

Thank you Lynn & Carrie! I'm just going to have to make up my mind soon, so someone else can book Beauty Speciale if I decide to cancel! I think I'll go to the MAC counter and see how they can help me, and if I feel too inept after practicing, I'll keep my appt on my wedding day! Great idea, Lynn about taking a pic of how they do it at MAC & emailing it! Thanks!
