I know we will be having lots of pictures taken during this trip. Pictures we will look at for years to come. So I want to look nice.

My question Makeup worth it or waste of time.:confused3

Let me clarify I am not talking a full face. Maybe bronzer, eye liner, mascara and lipstick or gloss. Will I waste my time putting it on?

TIA

When are you going to be visiting ? If it's in the summer especially July or August I would say don't bother because you'll most likely sweat it all off in the heat.

Blessed Be,
Tina

Waste your time with makeup?! Impossible! I don't know how anyone can live without the stuff. :)

Try a waterproof mascara, cheek stains instead of powder blush (Tarte makes fantastic blush sticks) and a mineral powder instead of liquid foundation (I love Philosophy's The Supernatural). Any foundation with an SPF in it will tend to reflect in photos - the dreaded "white face" effect - but I haven't ever had a problem with that when I use mineral makeup. Oh, stay away from shimmers of any kind since you'll already be sweaty and shiny. :)

If you get that far you'll need something on your lips or it will look unbalanced, so look for a "your lips but better" shade that will work both day and night. Clinique Black Honey is probably the best ylbb shade I've ever seen, and it's moisturizing so it would be perfect for a hot summer day. If you live near a Clinique counter or a Sephora, check it out in person because it looks much different on than it does in the tube. If you have more golden coloring, you might like their Guava Stain lipstick better. :)

Bare Minerals...it doesn't sweat off and should give you just enough coverage to look like you, only better.

I took my normal makeup routine and it worked fine. Personally I cant leave the house without the shower, makeup and hair. But thats me and it always has been. I wear foundation, powder, eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara and everything stayed put.

Your first trip coming up, How exciting. I would keep it real simple and waterproof the mascara and eye liner.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a really good waterproof mascara? You wouldn't believe the ones I have tried - Lancome, Estee Lauder, etc. - that actually smudge. I need something that is going to STAY PUT! Any ideas??

I've tried all of the above and some other expensive brands, and my favorite waterproof mascara is the Maybelline Great Lash pink tube with the green top.

I love Clinique everything. But mascara. like pp I use Maybelline great lashes.

I always wear simple make-up when I go. Who wants to look bad in pictures when you can look a little better. I don't wear any foundation so that's not a problem. Just some eye make-up and powder blush. I wore it through upper nineties with like 800% humidity (or at least that's what it felt like) in August and didn't really have a problem. To avoid the racoon eyes just don't put any liner under your eye, or mascara on your bottom lashes and you should be fine.

Me too! :upsidedow I've never had an issue with wearing makeup at Disney (even in the extreme heat) and I wear it all-I only wish I had that natural peaches and cream complexion without it!

I like Bare Minerals too since it doesn't clog your pores, it covers and it stays put. I also agree about Maybelline mascara...in the summer heat I use waterproof, other times I use the regular. Great stuff and cheap! Sometimes the pricey brands aren't better-I've learned through a lot of trial and error (and money! Ugh!). I normally wear lip gloss and I just carry that with me to keep my lips moist throughout the day.

I like the Bare Minerals make up also. It stands up to the heat and they also offer an SPF 15 now which is great.

I just feel beter in my makeup. I wear mary kay and I take bare min. and keep it simple. Always under 5 min. My fountation has sun screen so no need for anything else on my face. I just wish I looked good in a hat so I could throw and go with my hair too.

Bare Minerals!!:yay: :yay: Great coverage and it isn't a liquid !

I really like L'Oreal Voluminous mascara(comes reg & waterproof).

I always wear my normal makeup there (may, nov, april) except in Sept.(way too humid and hot, sweated off the first day then I learned not to bother.

I use foundation with spf15, baby powder (instead of face powder...just a little so you won't be white....it absorbs sweat pretty well) bronzer for the cheeks, gloss, a little liner and my FAV mascara........
ULTA waterproof!

you will look good no matter what because you will have fun all over your face!!!!!

First you need a primer that will keep your makeup on. I highly recommend Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer. I also LOVE Bare Escentuals makeup. I live in Texas and spend days in the Heat and my makeup stays flawless.

I started using that tinted sunscreen and just a little mascara. I use to take everything, but ending up never using it.

I also pretty much live in sunglasses too so that could make a difference. Nobody sees my face that much!

Another vote for Bare Escentuals! Gotta love that stuff - and it lasts forever, because a little goes along way!

As far as mascara goes - I have my eyelashes dyed before I go to Florida. They do it in Virginia for about $22. It's vegetable dye, totally safe for contact lens wearers, and lasts about 4-6 weeks, depending on how fast your eyelashes grow. I always had a problem with waterproof mascara, and a girlfriend told me about the dye.

I love Cliniques Black Honey and also Bare Escentuals Bare Blush lipgloss. Just don't carry it in your pocket! :)

That is really cool. I never heard of that before. Do you then just curl your lashes or not at all? I'm a blonde, so if I don't put mascara on, I look like I have no eyes! :lmao: I'll have to check this out and see if my salon or one in my area offers this. Thanks for the info! :)

My eyelashes are blonde, black, brown, and red, so if I don't wear mascara, it looks like some of them are missing!

I curl my lashes, just because I like how that looks, but you don't have to. I also know some people that put their mascara on over the dye, but I don't bother with that in Disney.

I don't know much about the salons in NJ, but there are day spas in NY and PA that will dye your eyelashes. There aren't alot of places in VA where I can get it done, because the tech needs special certification (because they're messing with your eyes, LOL!). If there are full service (offer hair cut, color, nails, waxing, facials, etc.) salons in your area, check there first. Some places call it eyelash tinting, others eyelash dying.

Good luck! It can be a little freaky the first time, unless you're used to other people putting mascara on you - LOL! And don't worry if you get a little in your eye. That's happened to me twice, and there was no buring or anything.

Good luck!
