Make-up dilemma - How did you choose?

I think I can safely say I now have my date in place, so I want to start booking up my outside vendors as soon as possible, but I really can't decide on which make-up artist to go with. I've heard so many positive things about both.

I know this gets asked a lot, because I think a lot of us go through this very dilemma: Who should I choose for make-up Beaute Speciale or Patricia LeJeune?

So to any disbrides out there who also were undecided between these two, what ultimately caused you to choose one over the other?

I initially chose Patricia because the photos on her site showed the natural makeup look I was going for (at the time I had a deep-seated fear of looking like a pageant contestant ). The reason I keep using her services every time we do an event in Orlando is that she is incredibly sweet in addition to being talented, and she takes the time to really listen to and work with you in order to achieve exactly the look you want.

I went throught the list of preferred vendors that Disney gave me and checked out all their websites. I went with neither and chose Janet Mednick of Onsite Beauty. She has been awesome to work with and is an unbelievably nice person. My trial in April was perfect. She even is bringing me and my friend cappucinos, since we have to be up at 4am. There are a couple of other brides who used her for their weddings as well and they really loved her as well.

I checked around and decided to have Beaute Speciale do my hair and makeup trial for my engagement pictures. I loved them so much that I had them come back for my wedding, my MK photo shoot, and my 1 year anniversary picture! And I will definitely use them again someday when I have pictures done again!

You're having an epcot wedding, right? That means an early morning? Some of the MUAs have an "early morning" fee that they'll charge. Something to consider.

I am still looking into this myself: the one company that I won't be using are 'about face' there were outrageously rude by email. I honestly couldn't believe that I was reading!

We chose Beaute Speciale for hair and make up. I havent actually used them yet, but they are very fast to respond to any of my emails. I actually used to be a hair stylist, and I am using them with NO TRIAL! I know... crazy! But I trust them 100% and have seen lots of their work. I was able to request who I wanted.

I chose not to go with Patricia LeJeune only because I read on her website that she wants your hair not washed the day of the wedding. That was a big no for me. I have very curly hair and will be washing my hair the morning of my wedding and flat ironing it before they come. I am very picky about it not being frizzy. I have heard great things about Patricia and seen AMAZING work from her as well, but after I saw that she requests that, it turned me off from her.

I think if you go with either one you will be very happy. Make sure to have pictures of what you want and you can even have a trial done so that you are more confident of their work.

Have you read through any TRs? When I was ready to choose a make up artist, I noticed that all three of my favorite TRs used Beaute Speciale. That's it! We loved them.

I picked Beaute Speciale based on the positive reviews I'd read here and the pictures of their work both on TRs here and their FB page. I was very impressed with their communication, especially since I was booking very last minute (like within the month last minute!). I also liked Patricia L's work but didn't consider her because at that time (and maybe still? not sure) she would not come out for just one person and it was just me and DH at our vr so I didn't qualify.
