Make-up at the Ivy Trellis

[A whole new world]

Has anyone had their make-up done at the Ivy Trellis at Grand Floridian? I'm having my hair done there but i can't find anything on their website about make-up. Do you know how much it is?

I had my makeup done there last year. It came out terrible. I asked for something very specific and I brought in a picture and everything. She barely glanced at my picture and did a terrible job. She did not put any cover up under my eyes even though I told her it's important because of my dark shadows. She used dark browns on my eyes and a face powder that was about 12 shades lighter then my skin tone.

I looked at my sister when it was done and my sister looked like she was going to cry!!! It was NOT ME... I don't even think I looked human.


I don't remember the price, but she still charged me $25 for "taking up the chair" even though I washed every last bit of makeup off before I left.


But then again, every single thing went wrong on my wedding day so it could have just been bad luck.

My mom had her makeup done by the other lady in the salon (can't remember her name) and it came out GREAT.... so I guess it's just who you get!

I wouldn't recommend it... I should get around to doing a trip report to share all my reviews, but they would all sound like the one above!!

I went back to my hotel room and had to do it myself. It came out okay, but it was just my everyday makeup because I'm not that great at doing new things and there was NO WAY I was about to try something new that day!!

When I got back to the hotel Randy was waiting for me and I had to have him wait while I did my make up. He took some pictures of me with NO makeup when I got there... hahaha... they are TERRIBLE!!!

That's OK: The bad reviews can be just as helpful as the good ones - or more! I really hope you will post a trip report, or even just a list of vendor reviews. It might save other brides some grief, or at least help them know what to ask for or look out for so they don't have similar problems!
