Make sure you purchase your tickets or upgrade your AP before this weekend

I have a loaded question and appreciate your feedback! If I book a room with the AP discount that only one person in my party has, can all other members of my party get Magic Your Way Multi-day tickets as a package? I am curious if the non-APs can get free mini-golf, etc. Also with the Disney Chase Visa credit card you can get “0% for 6 months on select Disney vacation packages.” Can an AP make room only bookings or can an AP also book ticket + room packages while retaining the AP room discount? It has been my understanding that groups sharing a room are an all or nothing for packages. For example: If you want a dining package, everyone in room must get it. If you want 5-day park hoppers package, everyone in the room must get them.

AP discounts are for room only bookings.

I know some things have changed in regards to upgrading to APs. I haven't kept up with all the changes since the last time we got APs, which was March '17. This was actually right after changes but i had bought the tix a few months before thru undercovertourist. They were price bridged as expected. I paid the difference in the "value" of a 7 day ticket through Disney and the cost of an AP.

With the new price increases I am debating doing this again. Will it still work to purchase discounted tickets thru a 3rd party then when upgrading to APs, be given the disney value (whatever it will be) for the ticket?

ETA...looks like an AP is going up by about $70. So I'm trying to decide if it's better to go ahead and buy APs at the current rate thru Disney or do the price bridge method.

Just bought our AP's after seeing this thread and the projected $70 savings per AP. Thank you so much for posting this! :thanks:

You would likely only be bridged to the current (before this weekend’s increase) price

Is this correct? I thought they would use current gate price? So if I go in July, they will use the price of a 7 day PH at that time to calculate the amount to bridge. Please help. This makes huge difference for me in deciding to purchase 7 day PH from UT now or go ahead and buy AP.

No point in debating or questioning what will or won't happen
(especially when the terms and definitions being brought up are ambiguous.)

Things unexpectedly changed a ton a year ago.
We'll know more if and when the price hikes come.
You'll just have to make the best guess you can, if you want to buy now.

I spent several days rewriting and rewording (and "re-revising") the Ticket Sticky info after last year's unprecedented changes.

I'm hoping nothing too "surprising" happens along with this year's price changes.
We shall see.

This is exactly where I'm at too. If we buy discounted tix now, but have to pay the difference later it's not of much use. I was trying to figure out what the current policy is. I may be way off, but if they just changed a year ago, (after being the same for many years) I wouldn't think they would change again so quickly. But you never know...

I spent all of that time painstakingly writing and revising the Upgrade info, and you didn't read it?
Man, that makes me feel good!!!

Guess I'll have time in the year or so off we take to save up an extra $210+ extra for new APs in 2020-21 :sad2:

:(:(Wow, there’s a $50 increase between 3 and 4 day??!?! Yeebus. Are they insane? I was planning on upgrading my 3day PH from OT to a 4 day when I arrive next month, but that jump is enough to make me consider having a pool day instead.

From what I can gather, after I bridge prices, it will cost me $111 to add an extra day. I could buy a one day regular tick for that much! Maybe even a few dollars less, dep on the park.

I just found it after you referenced here. Thank you for taking the time to do all of that. Very thorough. The only thing is we had the opposite experience of what is supposed to be the policy. We bought tickets last year through undercover tourist before the price increase but were credited the amount of the current 7 day ticket (not the pre-price increase 7 day ticket.) Maybe we got lucky...but there were 7 of us and we did it at 2 diff locatios, I did my kids at MK and my sister's family at EP. Maybe it's just ymmv or I'm misunderstanding the way it works...with disney it's prob ymmv :rolleyes1

What fun!

That can happen quite a bit.
Congrats.

Unfortunately, there are ALSO lots of guests who get a CM who does a terrible
job of dealing with the basic rules... and ends up over-charging those guests.

When they renew the military discounts every year, the prices are adjusted. We’ve been buying the military salute for a couple years now and my husband couldn’t believe the price jump this year.

We went in late 2016, and we just bought the ones for our trip at the end of the month in December. I think the increase was around $50. I couldn't believe it. Still an excellent discount, but my goodness, I was surprised...
