"Make Payment" option and balance not showing on MyDisneyExperience.

Hiya!

I helped a friend making a WDW reservation for his honeymoon and he payed the initial $200 deposit. Now he's trying to make additional payments to his balance but the balance is not showing and neither is the Make Payment option.

Have anyone experienced this before? I thought it might be a glitch on the system (I see Olaf quite a lot these days) but it's been two weeks so far with no success.

Would anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? Worst case scenario we can call Disney to see if there's something wrong with their system in general or my friend's reservation in particular.

Did he book through WDW or a TA? If through a TA, he cannot make payments nor see his balance online.

If booked directly with WDW, has he cleared his cookies, closed browser, reopened the browser and logged back onto the WDW site?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll ask him to do that! To be honest I'm not sure if he tried it before. I'll check these steps out and update the thread.
 
Unfortunately he tried those suggestions and even switching to a different browser with no luck. I guess calling Disney will be the way to go.

If anyone has any other suggestions they will be very much appreciated!
 

I had this happen last year. They gave me a reason, and I can't for the life of me remember what the reason was. They told me my only option was to pay over the phone.

I am in the same boat, I just found 2 disney gift cards and wanted to apply them to our balance, only to find out that since we have a room only reservation, we can't make any further payments online ?

you would think they would want my money
 
When is the trip? For some reason I feel like if you got within a certain date of the the trip, you had to call. And it was before your 45 day pay in full deadline. I don't know if it's a glitch or on purpose, but I feel like I remember it happening before. Good luck!

I have to say, I'm one of those people that absolutely HATES talking on the phone - HATE IT!! But Disney is the one place I don't mind calling.
 
I just went through this with our reservation... tried three browsers, clearing cookies, etc. and nothing worked! It was stuck like this for weeks. Our final payment is due 10/23, so I finally just called a week ago and made the payment over the phone. It worked out just fine, and I got an email confirmation the next day confirming a $0 balance. I do wish Disney would better support these IT issues though, because instead of being able to resolve this in a few clicks, I sat on the phone for nearly half an hour (ok, grumbling over now! :tongue:)

My friend has a Vacation package with Dining Plan an all, so it doesn't seems to be the known limitation of a room only reservation. He's going on January 11th so he's got some time before the final payment deadline.

I'll ask my friend to call and if they tell him the cause I'll let you know here. Thanks smokeyblue and disneypanda11, for sharing your experience! Looks like it's a rare problem. Maybe it's time for us to buy some Vinylmation blind boxes with this luck of us! :P

My friend absolutely hates talking on the phone but I agree with msmama, even if it does takes time they are always polite, don't usually sound like robots and are good at providing solutions or workarounds so I'm hoping it won't be so bad. Plus the hold music is much better than your regular call center. :P

It would be a great thing if they accepted payments online for a room only ressie.
 
This exact same thing happened to me! The first time I called, they directed me to someone on the phone who took a payment that way.

HOWEVER, I called again a couple weeks later and talked to a very helpful lady (don't remember her name...sorry!). She hade on the phone for a bit (maybe 40 mins) but finally got it resolved and now I can see my info and make payments online! Never found out what the issue was...

While on hold, we just chatted about WDW, so it was actually pretty enjoyable ;)

You can call the payment in. I wish we could to it online. I hate talking on the phone.
 
Update: The payment option just appeared and he was able to make the payment online! He's very happy he didn't needed to call Disney but so far we have no idea what caused the problem. Most likely is a random issue on their system.

It's good that calling is always an option although I also avoid talking over the phone as much as humanly possible.

This happened to me! I could make my initial deposit online, but after that I saw the exact same message. I've resorted to calling. Which isn't bad, I always just seem to get stuck on hold for 10-20 minutes. Hoping that the online option will come back for me soon!
 
I have a room only too and there no option to pay online, it says the balance is due at check in? Is that right, or do I need to call and pay it now. We check in nov 19th
