DL or WDW?

I'll explain. I wanted to save our first trip to WDW for our honeymoon in Sept of 2012. But after going to DL so many times last yEar I've really been wanting to go to WDw this Sept for 6 days. Same price. What would you do? Wait until honeymoon and go to DL again? Or go early and go again for honeymoon? Neither of us can make up our minds! Haha :)

Disneyland Park > Magic Kingdom (although the more spread out-ness of Magic Kingdom is nicer) But Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot are all excellent! Personally, if I were you, I'd go to Disneyland again, and save WDW as the "Grand Finale!"

6 days? If that is at least 5 days in the park I'd go there no question.

First trip and Honeymoon really make WDW ideal for this choice. It's the ideal vacation. You use Magic Express. Put a yellow tag on your luggage check it at the airport see it in your resort room. Check in, get you Key to the world card, that has your room key and park tickets built in, dining plan that pays for meal too if you opt for that. All you need in hand is tips for sit down meals and people who handle luggage. Using the inner WDW resort transportation to get to parks and resorts is better than needing to have a car. I equate the whole simplicity or "taken care of" experience to staying at a 4Seasons or ultra resort that few know the name of. Overall really laid back if you plan.

Planning isn't easier that DLR. Just different.

It takes planning of course, but for your Honeymoon and first visit, I would have no hesitation on this decision.

Yeah that's really what the plan was. Honeymoon would be at least a week and a half, going all out, brand new, totally special. But right now I think I just got it too far into my head that I just want to go for a sneak preview. I will be going to DLR for a few weekend trips here and there before then so I think that definitely plays in my decision that I just want to try something new. I know I'm so confusing and most likely annoying for being so back and fourth but it's just how I feel! :lmao:

If this was for our honeymoon it would TOTALLY be no question WDW. But it's not! Our honeymoon won't be until NEXT September! I wanted to try and wait until then but right now since I can see we can swing it for as much as I was planning to spend at DLR, it's the devil on my shoulder. The angel says "Save it for the honeymoon, it will be brand new to you!" and the devil says "You know you want to do itttt, so go this year!"

Now I know if we do go it will be fun AND our honeymoon will be just as fun if we hadn't gone this year, it's just all up to us to really make that final decision. Just wanted to get some other thoughts! :)

Thank you both for your input. I really love this board, it makes me feel like a little less of a freak for being a Disney enthusiast. :woohoo:

I would just sneak in some DLR trips. Quick drives over for the weekend and wait for a WDW honeymoon. With a rental you can take in a little site seeing or the beaches in Florida. I did a trip like that before no big deal. Like the Alamo in DLR's DTD there are rentals onsite at WDW too. Like I said WDW can be a complete inclusive trip so it a great one for a Honeymoon.

I agree with taking a few quick trips to DL. 6 days won't be nearly enough time for a first trip to WDW. DH and I spent 10 days on our first trip and it still seemed to go by really quick. Also, if you give yourself this extra time, you might save up for a fireworks cruise or spa treatments for the honeymoon.:goodvibes

Personally I would choose WDW over DL (don't flame me!:scared1::rotfl:). I like DL and it's really fun, but I love WDW.

But if you do choose WDW, then remember that September is very hot & humid. But the parks are not very crowded, especially with the kids back in school. If you do choose WDW, be sure to spend a day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, your feet will thank you and cooling down in the hot weather feels good.:thumbsup2

I agree with both of you. I will wait until our honeymoon and then it will be a first trip for both of us that we haven't done before. Instead I am planning a trip for DLR this year since it is cheaper and easier to plan! I think for our honeymoon I'd plan for two weeks, so that would be enough time to explore everything at WDW.

Thanks for the info! Originally I had not planned to go to any of the water parks, but I will keep that in mind. But I am going to save WDW for our honeymoon. I was getting impatient and wanted to go there but after I finally started planning and convinced the fiance that we should go sooner, I started feeling bad I wasn't saving this trip for our honeymoon. So I decided on another DLR trip this year! :)
