Make it make sense…LLSP Pricing

So

Our 7 day booking window is about a week away so I thought I’d check the prices and see if I wanted to shuffle any of our plans around - we’re on property for 10 nights and planning on purchasing lightning lanes once for each park. With dynamic pricing I figured best to have back up dates just in case I accidentally picked the most expensive dates of our trip!
(Spoiler alert: of course I did.)

This is where the confusion sets in while perusing the LLSP pricing.

_why on earth is RotR so expensive?!?!_

There are multiple days during our trip where a single pass for rise is more expensive than a multi pass for HS. My brain cannot make this make sense. It would make more sense to me if they jacked up the prices for Tron and GotG as there is no standby so people don’t have as many options, but no!

What am I missing here? Is it somehow connected to how often the ride is down? To be fair I haven’t ridden the dang thing yet as it opened just after my last visit, but… I’m so confused.

Rise has been consistently the most expensive at World for the entire time. I just checked the wait times for DHS. Rise is the 4th longest wait behind Slinky, ToT and RnRC. That is one I never bought in World and never see it as worth it. That line always seems to move quick.

I hear ya!
Couldn't believe the price for that one.

Just a guess but I'd say its at least these two reasons...
When it goes down it tends to be for a LONG time. As in an hour or two not just like 10-20 minutes.
And... its a very immersive Star Wars attraction.

If you want an alternate strategy, the standby line was down to 15 minutes about an hour before closing time yesterday. That’s pretty typical for this ride if you’re interested in the free option.

I think this is definitely what we’ll end up doing - over our trip we have 3 separate visits to HS planned and two of them are afternoon/evening cos I hadn’t realised they didn’t do a courtyard projection show thingie anymore lol. Works out well!

They are still doing Wonderful World of Animation

It is kind of mind-blowing. We rode it midday twice on our last trip and waited 24 and 14 minutes (posted wait times of 50/55 minutes) and again close to park closing and it was incredibly short then as well.

I have no clue why it’s so expensive. We always do it 1-2 hours before park close and this past April we walked on several times in a row.

No clue why it's so expensive, but if you need to try to justify the cost...

1. It's very immersive.
2. It's a long attraction (time wise, especially because part of the experience happens when you are waiting to actually board the attraction).
3. It's a must do for any Star Wars fan.
4. Parts of the attraction are mind-blowing for the first time rider.
5. It's probably the most unique attraction in all of Walt Disney World.
6. You are paying for the convenience of booking entry at a specific time.

We did this once and the ride shut down and couldn't restart and we were evacuated, luckily we had gotten past the first pre-show so we were considered "on the ride" and got an anytime to use the next day. Now this was back in the days of park reservations and we had park hoppers (we ended up at DHS randomly one night) and had a day already planned to spend at DHS so it wasn't a big deal for us but the people we were in line with were leaving the next morning.

For those mentioning the wait time going down towards park close, how far in advance of park close does it really start to go down? My friends and I are going soon but also want to see Fantasmic so trying to figure out when would be a good time to jump in line before heading over to find a seat for the show

It really doens't start to go down until after 8. On average between 6-8 it's a 60+min wait and between 8-9 it's a 40min wait. If your there on a day the ride goes down those wait times skyrocket. Fantasmic fills up pretty quick but I haven't been since before the pandemic.

Alright, we might just have to suck it up and wait, not a huge deal as it's the big ride all of us are dying to get on

If you only have one day in the park, I do recommend the LLSP for ROTR. The ride is just too unreliable in my opinion to risk getting in the line, it going down, and unless you've crossed a certain point where you're "on the ride" you don't get an anytime pass.

We went during the summer and hit Rise at 8:40, or 80 minutes before closing time.

We were able to ride 3 times before the park closed. The first wait was 20 minutes (80 minute posted wait). The 2nd wait was 10 minutes (80 minute posted wait) and the 3rd time was a walkon (70 minute posted wait.

We usually pay for it, but we have also gone spring break the last couple trips. This past March and the one before the line was back out through the tunnel towards muppets and looped back around. Now whether it took the 2-3 hours posted I’m not sure because it even looks long.

However we did get in a minute before closing our last night. There were only a couple people behind us and we were on the last ride of the evening. It was pretty cool. I think we waited about 20ish minutes and it was posted around 50.

We love how immersive the ride is, but we aren’t really big Star Wars fans. So our new strategy will be to get in line at close. I don’t want to deal with the mess of people heading that way at park open. SDD is bad enough. We really enjoy going towards TOT RNRC at rope drop as it’s less insane.

The only ride I’ll pay to ride as a single pass will be GOG in the future. I don’t feel like any of the other single passes are worth it.

Probably the most unreliable ride at Disney. Therefore, the higher cost can be attained.

Rise went down when I was in line after park close and I wasn’t at the pre show room/merge yet. We all got a pass good for either Rise or any other then-Genie+ attraction.
