Hi everyone :). This is my first post on this board, so please forgive me if this question has been asked before :confused3. My former boss's sister is sadly losing her battle with cancer :guilty:. They have talked for a few years about a joint trip to WDW with their families. They are in the early stages of (hopefully) planning a trip in the next 3 or so months before her sister is too weak to travel :sad1:. One of their largest concerns right now is the cost, due to her sister and her husband incurring a lot of medical bills and her sister not working for ~ a year. Can anyone share with me how likely it is for an adult to be granted a Make A Wish trip to Disney World? Also, what is the process to make a request like this with the Make A Wish Foundation? Thank you for any information that you can share :flower3:.

There are very few organization specific to adults -
These are ones listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in post 3 that I researched before.

  • Organizations for WISH type trips for adults
Dream Foundation - this is the best known of the adult wish granting organizations
    Dream Lives On
One Gift - Happiness Unlimited - this organization is only for cancer patients
Fairy Godmother.org is still listed on a lot of resource lists, but their website is no longer operating and the organization closed October 31, 2008)

They could also check with the Social Worker at the hospital/facility she is getting care at.
There may also be local businesses that would be willing to do fund raising or a trip.

Thanks Sue :). I'll pass on this information to her :thumbsup2. They are all so overwhelmed right now, I thought that I would try and do a little leg work for them.
