Make A Wish Question

Hi All,

My son is being granted his wish in April to go in a Disney cruise. I have a question for some of you who have done a MAW trip. My son and I were looking at the MAW web page at some of the items they sell. He liked things like a t-shirt, water bottle, blue button so on. Before I order anything did MAW provided any of you with anything like buttons or shirts a head of time? The buttons have to be ordered in quantities of 50 which is way more then we need.
Was not sure if this is something I should ask his wish granters or not so any info is greatly appreciated.

It all depends on the MAW chapter,When my son got his wish he recieved everything you just mentioned and more!!you can ask if you want to know for sure so that you can order it in time but when we went the whole family got shirts to wear.It was really nice for pictures!

My WISH was granted a LONG time ago but I know we got a pin. I don't remember if it was before or if The Kids Village provided them. I'd ask before going. That's exciting going on the Cruise as his WISH. I hope ya'll really enjoy your trip!

My DD went on a MAW cruise 11/06. She did receive a MAW shirt ans we all received MAW buttons. If you have any other questions ask away.

Parker received a shirt, hat, button and sheet of Genie stickers for us all to wear during his trip and a paper photo frame. I wore the button on his backpack as he hates wearing buttons on his shirts and it is a big button. I think the Genie logo may be new because 95% of the people had no idea what it meant. I know it matches the logo in the MAW lounge they opened at DL while we were away.
Does WDW have a MAW lounge?

Disneyland has a MAW lounge? I did not know that. My son got a T-shirt, genie hat and button to wear on the trip to identify him as the wish child to get special treatment (that is what we were told). We were also told not to let him wear the shirt once we got off of the MAW trip at any amusment parks (we live close to DL) because then that would be taking away treatment of kids on current MAW trips and that would be fraud. So even though he wants to wear it because he associates the shirt and hat with Disney he can't except at home. Was anyone else told this?

That guideline makes a lot of sense. He could wear the shirt to school or places where MAW typically doesn't grant wishes. At least that's my take on the 'at home' portion of it.

Bug, enjoy that trip. I'm glad to hear MAW grants cruises, because I can tell you my healthy kids wish for that, too. Take lots and lots of pictures!
