My mom has been given less then a year to live. Today somebody from hospice came in and asked her to make 2 wishes and they will grant one of them. Of course her #1 wish was to go back to disney with her family. The lady from hospice took down dates, asked her who she wanted to include and said they all had to sign the paper before she submits it. She said not to worry because NOBODY has even been turned down. Has anyone else gone through this before? And if so, what did it include?

I have never heard of an adult getting a wish. Someone posted once about the Fairygodmother Foundation but I am not sure if they actually have granted many wishes. ---Kathy

:grouphug: Hope it all works out that your mom gets her WDW wish granted!
Did you ask hospice which agency is granting your dmom a wish?
Here is a website to Fairy godmother. www.fairygodmother.org

Make a Wish only works with children, but there might be some wish organizations that work with adults. They might be local and not nationwide. The hospice people (hopefully) know what resources are available and have referred your mom to one that will be able to grant her wish.

:wizard: Here's some pixie dust for a wonderful wish.

::yes::
I have heard of it. I didn't mean it didn't work with people over 18, just that there might be more and that all of them might not be national.

If you look at the Fairygodmother site though it doesn't look like very many wishes are granted- not alot of funding. I just don't think people care too much about terminally ill adults ( sadly) but truthfully their family has usually lost a breadwinner, thus changing their life drastically..and their children would love to make a special memory with their parent the same as a parent would like to make for their child. With so many children's organizations and the definition of "life-threatening" often being stretched to include just about anything I wish the funds could be diverted to the truly terminally ill no matter what their age. This is JMO and I don't mean to take away from any children who have gotten or are getting a wish.---Kathy
