Ugh... I hate this heat and humidity:scared1: I am so ready for Fall. I just don't do well in it since my transplant. I will be staying inside this weekend.

Think cool

What????!!!! Ready for Fall? The summer is just beginning.:) I LOVE the summer. While I don't love the humidity, I will just find ways to keep cool until the heat wave breaks. I'll probably spend the days in the pool, in the AC, etc. I took this week off from work, so I'll be working on my tan.:cool1: I hate when people wish the summer away--it's too short to begin with.;)

Ugh, another heat wave ... I love the heat but could do without the humidity. The good news is that it will keep our Newfie puppy more tired than normal!

We are putting up our small pool this weekend ... how we are going to fill it, I am not sure but at least we will get water in it! :-)

Just walked the dog, and it's nice and cool out here in Central Jersey. But looking at weather.gov it's supposed to be 89 today and then high 90's the rest of the week *ugh* I was loving the A/C off and saving $$$$

So far here in Maryland it is a beautiful morning but I see they are forecasting near 90 degree temps for today and near 100 in a few days :scared1:.

...another heatwave

...oh great! There goes my electric bill....

Here, it has been in the mid 80's with virtually no humidity. Today and tomorrow they are saying low 90's but low to no humidity. This I can handle. The minute it gets sticky, I am finding my air conditioning!

I will take the heat anytime before the cold !!!

So 95F today, and 97F tomorrow. That might not seem that hot to folks down south, but for here, where we sometimes have one or two >90F days per year, it's oppressive.

last night at 9 pm I checked our temp on weather.com and it was 89 here in Maine and Orlando it was 76....isnt this a wee bit backwards..

Im with you op, I hate the heat and humidity too. I actually love the fall and winter, so summer is not my favorite time of year. I will make the best of it though and go in our little pool, crank up the ac, and maybe go get an ice cream with dd! Yum!

LOL...We've had a good amount of rain this weekend so that's kept the temps down and we need the rain so it's good. I'm sure this little break won't last too much longer and we'll be back to Florida in the summer.

I like the heat but hate the idea of closing the windows and blinds. We have central air which is nice, but to run it efficiently I have keep the house dark inside. I will turn it on in an hour or so. Just getting a few things done first.

However, I am going to take advantage of it. I have been putting some things off because we have been outside so much. I am a teacher and need to revamp a few things for next year, so that is my plan while the heatwave is stuck here.

We just bought blackout shades for the two skylights in our living room, and we have new blackout curtains on order (backordered... gRRRRR) for the slider and windows there. Yes, it'll make it into a cave. It'll also save beaucoup money on electricity for air conditioning, and saving energy is also good for the environment. :thumbsup2

Yes, we go for the cave effect in our home too for the heat waves, but it does save $$ in the long run. We have a huge window in our living room that gets the morning sun. It is wonderful, except on these very, very hot days.

It was really toasty up our way too and it's we are going to have temps with the humidex factor in the high 30's (lets see....the 90s in F) all week....

Yesterday was especially wonderful doing a parade wearing a kilt, wool socks up to my knees, are black wool hat and dragging a drum uphill......(maybe a psychiatrist could explain why I do things like that - ha ha)

I don't like the humidity (which is why we are going to WDW in December instead of September this year....).

My air conditioner is happily humming its little tune already this morning....
One thing about chilly weather is you can always add on clothes to keep warm - but in the heat you can only take off so much before you end up in jail - which locally is NOT air conditioned:lmao:

ITA!! I don't do well in the heat and humidity normally, but I am 8 months pregnant and have a 3 yr old who, of course, is totally unaffected by the heat and wants to play outside all the time!! I've had to tell her it's not safe for us to be outside too much. I drank a case of Poland Spring water on Saturday just to make sure I kept hydrated...haha.

OP, I am with you.....bring on Fall.....my absolute favorite season!

I totally agree. Summer is way short and winter is way long at least where I live. I do wish on these hot humid days, tho that I had a pool!!! :)
