I need your help. I am trying to plan a trip for April. I'm checking out resort prices and I can get the Honeymoon Suite at WL cheaper than a MK view at Poly. Would it be worth it? :confused3 It will be our first time in a deluxe resort and we want the best we can afford. Does WL even compare to a place like Poly. We went there for the luau on our last trip and the hotel is gorgeous. The chance at a suite though throws a wrench in the works. HELP!!!:faint:

I have stayed at both locations and while the Wilderness Lodge is a great Resort, I liked the Polynesian better and the fact it was on the Resort Monorail line. I am wondering how is it possible that the Honeymoon Suite is less expensive then the Magic Kingdom View at the Polynesian?

Not sure. It's just what the price list says. Maybe they are kind of like two different leagues. Again, not sure.:confused3

I much prefer the WL. Much quieter and relaxed than the Poly I found. They upgraded us to a MK view for our Anniversary and I found it noisy. The ferry horns blast all day long and I couldn't nap in the afternoons for it. I actually asked to be moved away from that room for that reason but there was nothing till the next day. The room was lovely but given the choice between that and a standard WL I would still take WL.

The monorail is great but the boat from WL is very relaxing and you can then jump on the monorail at MK.

I would say it depends what you are looking for in a resort.

Technically, I've not stayed at the Poly. I've stayed at GF and WL though, and dined at the Poly many times.

One sticking point for us is that the Poly doesn't have a hot tub. It' s probably got the best transportation on property, but no hot tub. For those rates, I want a hot tub.

In the past, the boat from WL to MK was slow. This past March, at least comning and going at peak times, we got a direct boat, so that makes the transportation much better. The bus to MK was also very fast. We also had rather good service to Epcot and back (short stay).

AKL is still my favorite deluxe. We also really enjoyed the Swan, and the whole Epcot area (hard to justify paying twice as much for BWK/BC).

Really all the deluxes have their strengths and weaknesses. If the theming of one appeals to you then that's probably the one you should pick. WL anf GF feel American. Poly and AKL make you feel like you are in another place.

The boat at WL is always direct now I believe. Poly always seemed to be the most over priced resort there is. The no hot tub really irks me too. I'd do WL as the monorail isn't exciting for me, I enjoy the boat much more

We loved WL, loved the pool, loved the outdoor theme everywhere, loved the food, and prefer the quietness of being out in the wilderness. I guess you need to ask yourself what you are looking for. If you have a MK view from WL, you can see the fireworks....now that is romantic.

I assume you are going on your honeymoon? The honeymoon room is not really a suite per say. It is on the club level & they have 4 rooms all of them over looking the lobby. The whispering pines cafe can get very loud at times. We had friends who spent their honey moon there & asked to be moved due to the noise. He told me it was a little bit larger not by much than the regular rooms at the WL except it had a whirlpool tub.

Staying at both Poly (club level MK View) & the WL Club level I prefer the WL but the Poly was nice but if price is driving your decision stick with the WL. The one reason we went to the Poly Club MKV was due to our 25th wedding anniversary back in 1994 but had to put off due to my Mother's death. And didn't go until 1995 & it was last minute. We got very lucky with the view. It was breath taking.:goodvibes
