I've not stayed at the QII, so cannot offer any advice on this particular hotel.
However, what I would say is that sometimes people like me

tend to overreact and - perhaps - do a smidgen more research than perhaps we need. I say this because two years ago our trip was to be ultra-special because I had just been made redundant so it was a 'cheer me up let's really splash out' trip. Through Virgin Hols I'd booked the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa for our 6 nights in Orlando. Then I found Trip Advisor. Oh dear, the reports on there for this 5 star hotel were terrible, dire in fact. Mould on the walls, floors, beds, terrible services, smelly, murky swimming pool - you name it, it was that bad according to everyone. I even put a thread on the US boards asking for opinions, the above were repeated and I was told we really shouldn't go there.
So got in touch with Virgin who were surprised I wanted to change since it was one of their best hotels, but I reported all the comments and they let me change to an alterative no charge. They pointed out to me that if there were any problems, they have an excellent relationship with all their hotels in Florida and any problem would be immediately sorted out. My view was that there shouldn't be a problem in the first place!
When we were over there, I decided to satisfy my own curiosity and go check it out. What a dum dum I was. The hotel was magnificant, the rooms clean and the pool not murky. (I didn't regret my choice at the end of the day, though, because we stayed at the AKL instead).
I am sure none of you will have any problems with the QII - Virgin have their reputation to contend with and it is one of their Flagship Hotels - read their copy on what this means. I'd be tempted to send Virgin Hols an email to let them know of your concerns, take a copy with you and should (you won't I'm sure) you have any problems, get your email out in the resort.
Happy holiday - and happy wedding/honeymoon
