Major changes to Fantasy Land Refurb Phase II

Ok. So I go to Disney about once every week or so. I have an annual pass, and i literally live 15 minutes from the place.. so I'm there a lot. SUPER EXCITED about everything thats going on with the new plans, and can't wait for it to be finished.. BUTTT. I just got back from there tonight, and JUMPED on the computer looking for information the second i got home.. about something I saw, when I happened to turn my head.... IF YOU LIVE IN ORLANDO PLEASE GO AND CONFIRM WHAT I SAW.... I CANT FIND ANY INFO ON IT AT ALL. ... I SERIOUSLY GASPED BECAUSE I NEVER HEARD ANY RUMORS ABOUT IT AT ALL. **

I was on the People Mover that rides the skyline around tomorrow land. I was about to enter Space Mountain when I noticed stairs going down about 2 windows before you actually enter through the tunnel.. I just happened to look long enough to notice that there was a *** winding pathway and the CARDS from ALICE AND WONDERLAND ** along the side of the path. Also there were poles with lights that werent on, with like a Decorative flag that had the White Rabbit on it holding his pocket watch*** I LEGIT COULDNT BELIEVE WHAT I SAW!! AND IT MADE NO SENSE B.C I figured I'd see something on Google about it! I watched as I came out of Space Mntn too, and made my boyfriend ride it again so that I could see it again to make sure it was REAL LOL! I did a million double takes, and tried to reason what could possible be going on. I AM REALLY DUMBFOUNDED about this and I hope someone else will go see it, or know something about it. I'm going to go back this week and get a picture to post. :) I didn't have my camera on me, or I would have taken one. Trust me. lol. I want you all to see it.

That's just the back path to Toontown. The cards have been there for a long time.

:confused3 That is the main candy path for trick or treating on MNSSHP nights. I am missing what was so new and unusual?

I think the concept art request was for the revised plans -- that link goes to the original concept art, but it appears they're going to not do the Cinderella/Aurora "castles" or Pixie Hollow..

It'd be interesting to see what the (presumed) revised layout might look like.

Yeah, those cards are there for Mickey's Not So Scary. They show up every September and leave November.

Honestly, I hope they do not take away a ride like snow white(not my fave, but pretty and my kids enjoy it), they need to add rides not take away rides. Enough already with the picture opportunities! So for all this ugly construction from where I stand there is only one new ride to come from it.
(I do not count dumbo, because quite honestly we ride it every trip first thing, so I do not care about the wait times)
Goofys barnstormer- same just different pictures big whoop, skip this one every trip anyways.

While I am at it...Disney, also really could have put a little more effort in hiding the construction work. Lovely, to see it when riding Dumbo. I can't imagine Walt would be happy about that one, since he went to great pains to keep the illusion of a magical world. The magic of it being a perfect little world is what makes Disney so special to my family.

Maybe a modification of Snow Whites ride with more happy scenes with the elves and some of the animals. Would much rather have seen one high caliber ride added to the parks than all the rest.

I wouldn't be torn up to see SW go as it sounds like they want to put a replacement mine car coaster in. I can't imagine having a another rollercoaster would be a good fit in FL though. It would have to be a small kids coaster ala Barnstormer. Well it's all rumor right now so best not to dwell.

However, your right. All that space back there and officially they want to put just one ride in?! Crazy.
Fit IJ in and I'll be happier.

How do you feel about the Matterhorn?

If the snow white ride was going to be a good coaster I would say go for it, but really couldn't they add that to SW too? Then they could have a theme going.
I have had DL has great rides, would just rather see more rides. I was all exited with the new expansion plans but then when I really looked at it, I was not so happy.
I have 3 girls too, but still the rides are what everyone wants. Give us the rides Disney!:rotfl:

IMHO I am sure this fantasy land expansion will be great! I know there has been some comments of the newer attractions are lack lusting Disney brand.
Two of there best attractions opened over the last 5 years during the Happiest Celebration on Earth

Everest yes there are bigger meaner rollercoasters out there but this one IMHO is one of the top rollercoaster’s because of the theming.

Sorin -This is a master piece to be enjoyed by everyone.

Then
TSM a attraction that was able to be fit in a small space! Then turned out to be the #1 attraction in all four parks.

Trust me they will make this expansion to WoW us.

They need to get something new for
AK
then
Epcot
Then
DHS

I would love to see a "Happiest Celebration on Earth" Expansion.

Well I agree with a lot of what is posted...but let me toss something out that amazed me during my trip to DLR a month ago.... note I am a WDW "local" and only been a couple times to DLR....

I was walking to the bathrooms while waiting for the fireworks by the castle and saw a DANCE going on...A DANCE!!!! I do not dance very well so I didnt try... but a Dance!?!!?!? In the middle of Disneyland!!! Before you laugh it off, I honestly am sad that I didnt pull my wife out of our spot by the castle for the fireworks to join in... looked like everyone was having so much fun!!! According to what I was told this is a regular weekend thing...no extra admission or anything....dance floor was packed and there were people outside the area (the dance floor was covered sorta like the teacups at MK if memory serves me correctly) lined up watching, clapping, etc...

WOW!!!! Why do we not get things like that? And repeating I am NOT into dancing... its the little things like that at Disneyland that makes me go "wow"....

The reason you saw this is a DL difference. It has a half million passholders that can come to the parks after work. DL has an assortment of mini entertainment venues like dances on weekends and during the summer to draw in the APs for dinner or another spending opportunity. It one of the reasons DL seems very rich and full while MK is not.
