Maintenance Fee at Animal Kingdom Lodge

I just purchased points at Animal Kingdom Lodge which I was on the DCL Fantasy and was wondering how much per point I should be paying. I thought that the presenter at the DVC meeting said that I would be only paying for 6 months (for 2012)--I purchased 162 points. How would I figure what my maintenance fee would be for 2012?

Any help would be appreciated since I just got my statement for the maintenance fee.

The annual dues at AKV for 2012 are $5.44/point. The dues would be prorated based on the number of days left in the year based on your purchase date.

If you just purchased points, e.g., like today, then annual dues you will pay are the pro rata share of the year's dues that would apply from June 27 to December 31, or a little more than about 6 month's worth, half the total for the year, meaning you would pay about $441 dollars for the remainder of the year. How you pay that depends on what you have set up with Disney. You could pay all of it at closing or you can do it in monthly payments via automatic withdrawal from your checking account. If you choose monthly , the payments won't actually start until about the month after closing, e.g., such as in August in which case your monthly payment will reflect that you will be paying 6 month worth of dues in only 5 calendar months (Aug to December).
