I have never done an early morning at MK to be there for the opening ceremony and ride the vehicles. I plan on going for 9am opening for our upcoming trip, not and EMH day. We will have a group of 10 and have breakfast reservations at Kona Cafe at 11:00am. Is this a feasible plan? Tell me about the vehicles and which ones would accomodate our large party? How is the trip down Main Street? Is it nice, I love that walk down Main Street to the hub in the morning. Thanks for you advice. :)

If the Omnibus is out you could all fit on it-the ride on the top deck is so much fun.:)

1. Don't wait too late.
2. Trolley Car. (Don't know if the Omnibus will be running.)
3. Akin to walking. Rides are one-way only, so….

You could WALK to the Hub, then, grab a ride on the Trolley back to Town Square.
(Very few guests will be wanting to ride in that direction.)
Of course, THEN, you'd have to walk back down Main Street to do anything else. ;)

You'd want a group that large to board the Resort Monorail at about 10:30-ish to get back to the Poly for 11am ADR.

Is there any rhyme or reason as to how long they leave them out, or why they sometimes stop running but bring them out later? Seems like the biggest problem people have doing the WDW46. Otherwise they could probably avoid having top hop to MK twice.

They pull them off of Main Street when it gets clogged with guests.

Makes sense. Thanks.

It's hard to imagine a time when it is not clogged, even right at opening.

The Rope Drop crowd is a "wave" that subsides after the initial rush.

It's then that they perform the "Trolley Show" with the singers and dancers doing the "Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" number.

What time do they do this! I've never been there for it!!

This is a great site to keep BOOKMARKED for future reference.

The following site posts the stage shows, in-park and other on-property shows and their times for the CURRENT week.
(It is updated every weekend.)
The times may be "similar" for other dates as well.

Be sure to check back to the site as the actual dates of your trip get closer.

They pull them off when Main Street when it gets clogged with guests.
So walking down to then hub to catch the ride back mite not be a good idea if it gets crowded and cant get a ride

1. What would be too late? We plan on catching the MK opening show cause I've never seen it then head in. There's another "show" in town square? What's that?

2. Does the bus not always run? And why not, does it depend on crowds?

Thinking about skipping Kona and doing BoG for breakfast to stay in the park. Not sure if I want to do that or if BoG will be available.

So where do you get on/off the vehicles? Where do they do the show? Where should we head after we come in the gate to watch the opening show then move to the other show then hop a ride? I don't want to rush but I want to get the logistics down to not waste time.

First of all, try not to generate too much anticipation for this stuff. It's not really such a big deal.

1. In front of the Main St. Railroad station, near the Flagpole ("Town Square") on the south end, and
at the Hub on the north end.

2. & 3. All along Main Street (they do it several times.) The first show will be near the Plaza Restaurant, near the Hub.
(It's just a really small show.)

4. Again, this is not fever-pitch, tight-timing must-do stuff.
It's just cute.

1. See my post above this one.

2. Nothing "always" happens.
You can ask a CM who is operating any of the Main St. vehicles just what other vehicles are running that morning.
Could be all of them. Might be fewer.

Thanks. Yeah but it's just one of those things after dozens of trips that I have never done. Always want to and never have.
