A friend was on Main Street today during the 3 o'clock and peeked in the the former Main Street Bakery. At least 20 cast members inside and NOT ONE Starbucks coffee customer!
So, Disney, how great an idea was this?

Nahhh. Should have left the Main Street Bakery a Bakery. Add Starbucks Coffee to the bakery but don't take the bakery away and still call it the Main Street Bakery. Besides Starbucks coffee smells like skunk. I may never get over this change.....

I was there all weekend and everytime I passed by it was packed. On both sides. But the service was quick.

It was 91 degrees at 3:00pm.

That could have something to do with it.

I love Starbucks and can't wait to try it on our next trip. Though not at 3pm, that's when I drink water. I drink 1 cup of coffee in the morning. :)

I am a native NY'er that moved to Seatlle. I'm pretty serious about my coffee, I used to buy whole bean, grind my own every morning, the whole 9. When I would go to Disney I would NEVER drink coffee because the Nescafé just turned my stomach.

I never liked Starbucks until I moved to Seattle. Maybe because it is served everywhere out here (offices, restaurants, ect) but it is also so much of the culture out here.

Haven't been to MK since the switch. Don't mind the change in coffee but it is a little upsetting that the Main Street bakery isn't really a bakery anymore.

My understanding is that they never did actually bake anything there (or at least not for a long time).

You're probably right. I should have said it isn't really themed like a bakery anymore. I've only seen pictures but it does look more like a Starbucks than a bakery that serves Starbucks coffee.

So, taking a single look at a single period of time means it was a bad idea?

Low crowds in the afternoon has been the trend since it opened. It is packed in the morning and often after dinner time. With this in mind, I also think it has to do with the fact that they over staff it. There are way too many CMs in there than are needed. I can see having several peak times of the day, but otherwise they should be placed elsewhere.

It is a Starbucks. Everything served there is a Starbucks product.

I saw Frappaccinos up and down Main Street on Saturday night. It was 80+ degrees and the MK was open til 1am. Lots of extra caffeine needed after Wishes to get through til closing.

It does seem to be laid out better but I can see how it is really a Starbucks that is trying to impersonate the Main Street Bakery.

PS- I think my favorite part of that article was about the picture of the cinnamon roll even thought they don't sell it. I wonder if they'll bring it back, it was such a staple.

How is it trying to impersonate Main Street Bakery? As is pointed out in the post, nothing was actually baked there, and the bottom row of the bakery case is Disney items.

Even though nothing was baked there it was themed and perceived as a bakery. It sold Disney pastries and baked goods. Now it's just a Starbucks in a location that used to be (and is still named) the Main Street Bakery. This isn't a rant about Starbucks or the bakery, simply an observation that it is really a Starbucks in the MK that is named "Main Street Bakery".
