Main Street is no place for corporate branding

I tried several espresso and drip, I got the impression they use cheap beans, it just wasn't for me.

That's interesting. Do you like S bux coffee? There s is always over roasted and burnt tasting to me.

WDW does have good coffee already. They have carts run by Joffreys.com all over the park.

I wouldn't go as far as saying all over the park. There is one outside AK and one or two in Epcot. I can't think of one in MK.

HS as well . Several hotels serve Joffreys coffee. I thought there was one in MK, but I can't think of it, so maybe not.

Well I had to be inventive to find a coffee that worked well :p I usually get a macchiato or similar and then get them to add a shot of espresso. That way I get a strong coffee but the macchiato smooths it out. Its hard to get good coffee in a mainstream joint.

Yup.:(

Starbuck's lover here.....I just don't want to see it on Main Street.

Duh! Sorry, got the sarcasm in the first part - my head is spinning with all this SB hatred :rotfl2:

What is "Our ingredient list reads like a chemical word search for a science class" :confused3

Or, do you mean, do I know thats the company slogan in the MS Bakery photo from 1971 - umm, yes, I do. :confused3

Is it me???

The company's slogan was nobody doesn't like Sarah Lee.

I honestly don't see the big deal, especially about the Coca-Cola signs... I mean, thats an iconic American brand, what small town Main St. wouldn't have had a place to grab some soda....

Window advertisements are prevalent in all American towns and always have been, As long as it's kept in Disney theme I think it'll be fine.

Keep in mind that not everyone drinks coffee. It's hard to find decent tea in WDW and I'm personally thrilled to be able to get something better soon. Plus the hot chocolate is nice.

Main Street was ruined when they got rid of the unique shops. The bakery is OK but nothing that outstanding IMO.

Looking at what happened in DL, the Starbucks logo is integrated nicely and not in your face, so I welcome it. As others have said, I'm a tea drinker and really miss this at WDW. My only worry is more hoardings down Main Street when I go in January as they do the refurb.......

I'm surprised how many people have said that they don't like Starbucks so therefore it shouldn't be at WDW (not on this thread but the countless other threads on this issue) To me, that's like saying I don't drink Coke so no store at WDW should sell Coke.

As long as the outside isn't a regular Starbucks like we see outside (which I already know that it won't given that 1) it's Disney we're talking about and 2) how amazingly well the DCA location has been themed, I can't wait for Starbucks to be in the parks!

I understand where you are coming from, but from what I read about the one coming to Epcot as well, the CM's will still be dressed in FutureWorld costumes and have the FutureWorld theme, but just serve Starbucks products. Hopefully Main Street will still be "Disney" with a touch of Starbucks. I am excited about it being that coffee in the parks at the moment is not very good. :thumbsup2

This will exactly be the case! :thumbsup2

The CM's who work at the Starbucks location are Disney CM's with Starbucks training. They will be in costume and expected to have the same customer service as any location at Disney has.

Given who amazing the DCA location has been themed, I would expect no less in Main St. Given the complete refurb they did of the exterior earlier this year, I'd be surprised if the outside changes all that much. Possibly only the addition of a small Starbucks sign like in DCA.

In the other threads, its been said they will be SB employees dressed as CMs.

According to the Disney release and other knowledgeable bloggers...they are keeping the same CMs and those CMs will take Starbucks training! Either way, they WILL be up to CM standards!

I'm a coffee drinker, but my DD drinks tea. She is a huge fan of Twinings, which is what she's been served in almost all locations in WDW. She has generally been offered English Breakfast, Prince of Wales, and a few others that aren't coming to me. So, where I continually complain about the coffee, she always enjoys the Twinings tea.

you've totally missed the point. the huge complaints that starbucks will bring corporate america to main street are silly because it has always been that way.

there is no big deal about the coca-cola signs obviously.

Corporations have always been a part of the disney parks. This is no different. The one in dl is nice, so i figure these will be too. People get their panties in a twist over every little thing. They forget the reason that the body building in Epcot closed because they couldn't find a new sponsor .

I just have to laugh that the corporate sponsorship has always been in Disney World and Walt knew it. Now that *gasp* STARBUCKS is coming, people are freaking. Get over it. Disney World is not going to close because Starbucks has a presence. It didn't close because *gasp* McDonald's was there. It's not going to close because *gasp* Coke has a freaking tasting place at Epcot.

What is the big deal? It's ONE place on Main Street. You don't like it, don't go there. It's the same as flipping a TV channel when you seen something objectionable. You move on. Good gravy, it's like the world is coming to an end because Starbucks is coming.

Personally, I don't drink coffee and will be laughing at the people who are buying the overpriced beverage at Magic Kingdom or anywhere else.
