Main Street Electrical Parade to stay Spectromagic leaving.

All I can say is that I love MSEP :cool1: and I was so disappointed that I had to cancel my WDW trip this year. And I was even more so because I wouldn't see MSEP. We have a trip planned for August 2011 so I am so excited that the parade will be there!!

I saw it last weekend and liked it. Some differences from before that I remember- the dwarves had lighted buckets of jewels and I thought bigger heads( could be off on the heads), there were some clown carts pushed that the clowns were wired to and lit up also; King Leonidas played an organ with steam, thought we we carried the the frame for the ballroom dancers we were in arabian turban outfits with tire tread sandals( we wore that outfit for something )and I thought there were guys in striped shirts that did a high bell kick as part of the routine somewhere. Of course that was a long time ago and I wouldn't expect it to be 100% the same. Just some things that stood out to me and I could be remembering incorrectly.

I actually like both parades. BUT... I do like spectro better. I agree that just being there and seeing any parade is wonderful!!

If I recall correctly there used to be a Small World section of the parade which i heard wasn't in the current version. In the Small world Section, there were people pushing little individual "floats" with a small world doll in it all lit up and doing their dance while the "pushers" sort of danced with the cart and occasionally did the high bell kick.

So I saw MSEP in person for the first time last night.... and was not impressed. I stand by my original vote: Spectro stays, MSEP goes!

There was a poll on another board that got lots of responses. MESLP got 2:1 votes over Spectro. I was surprised that WDW visitors were so unloyal myself. But the numbers spoke for themselves.

but does it really matter? we all know that every decision is based on guest feedback.

the rotation was made...it ain't going anywhere and we all know it. let's just live with it and attempt to enjoy it.

For me, Spectro evokes more emotion. I think the music is beautiful whereas the MSEP music gets a bit old very quickly for me. I'm already ready to have Spectro back. I think...and I even hesitate to say this since it's so beloved...that MSEP dates itself a bit with the music.

I look forward to seeing MSEP again. I hope it won't seem too dated after watching Spectro. :earsboy:

When I was down 2 weeks ago met up with Old High school friend who lives down their and has some friends who work at WDW. Told Me MSEP will be run through Sept of next year and Spectromagic will return for 40th Anniversary.

That is what I am hoping!

Spectro will be back and I wouldn't be at all surprised if its not reworked to include a different musical compilation, some changes to choreography and some minor float alterations.

I Hope not... Spectro is THE most overrated parade ever at Disney. I'd rather keep the FAR SUPERIOR MSEP. I'll finally watch again... have had to endure the agony of the garbage of spectromagic for too long.

Spectro needs to stay at WDW - that's where it was born, and it's becoming it's own "timeless classic". Shipping it to France would ruin it, much the way they ruined Fantillusion.

MSEP needs to return to it's home in DL. Someday.
