I'm planning a 2 day visit in April or May & was looking at my DL Map & came across the two places above that i've never seen (or heard much about).

- The Cone shop looks to be OFF Main St. a few steps. Is it like the Gibson Girl? Is it less crowded?

- The Enchanted Cottage is in the Princess Faire area. Since DS 8 & I "don't need no stinkin' princesses" we have strolled by to & from RR w/o knowing it's there.

Am i reading this right??? "Bavarian Style Sausages, Desserts & Drinks"?? (Maybe Brats??.....or Struedels or German Chocolate Cake??) Why in the heck are they putting primo dude food back there with the princesses??

Also....what is "Starcade"??

hound <-----lives 30 miles from Elgin, home to Meyers & Southside Sausage pits. & also lived in New Braunfels 8 years....where they have a 10 day festival for Sausages. Dude knows & loves his sausages...especially with spicy brown mustard and/or vinigar hot sauce.

.

The cone shop is on the other side of Main Street from Gibson Girl, at the end of the alley that goes back into the locker area. It only seems to be open on busy days. Mainly serves ice cream cones, though a couple of different sundaes are available. You can see the menu here: http://allearsnet.com/dlr/din/menu/men_main.htm

Enchanted Cottage does serve bratwurst and knockwurst - I have no idea how good/bad they might be, though. That menu is here: http://allearsnet.com/dlr/din/menu/men_ench.htm

Maybe they put "primo dude food" there to give the dudes something to do while the dudettes are at the Faire? :-) Though actually that's pretty much the same menu the place had when that area had the Snow White theater show instead of the Princess thing.

Starcade is an arcade with the usual arcade games.

YUM....love the Cone Shop....always gotta get a Firehouse 105 any time the shop is open, which is rare.

Yes, the Starcade is the arcade you pass as you exit Space.

Haven't tried any of the sausages, we never seem to be in that area of the park very much.

Thanks for all the info. :thumbsup2

I'll try the brats & the german chocolate brownie on our next trip. :cool1:

& per got2travel's excellent advice, I'll keep my eye's open for an open for business Cone Shop...& get a "Firehouse 105".... which looks like my kind of sundae.

We did a brat and a knock on our winter trip - neither were bad, but nothing to write home about. We happened to be in the area to watch the lighting of Small World and stuck around for the parade. It is really rather close to the Toon Town train station, could do a quick hop off - hop on type thing, or it's just a quick walk from the Matterhorn.

My sentiments exactly. Not bad, but nothing special either. What is nice about this location is that the lines are generally shorter at the Enchanted Cottage than most other counter locations. I'm just generalizing, but during the prime lunch and dinner times, we've had luck grabbing brats from here with just a little bit of a wait.
