Not sure what's going on, but I'm at DL now and MS is inaccessible due to some security event. CMs are redirecting guests through stores but no one's allowed onto the street.
I had a swarm of bees in my yard, just prior to a recent DL trip. I just left them alone and they moved on in a couple days. Of course DL can't just wait, so likely the swarm was killed. Bee swarms on trees are usually temporary and since there is no hive to protect, not aggressive.
There are beekeepers you can call who will move the swarm for you, no need to kill them (or wait for them to move on their own). I truly hope Disney went that route.
Wow. Now I've heard everything! I always figured there'd be bees when those pink blossom trees show in Feb/March or when the jacaranda trees bloom in May. Wonder what had them swarming in July? And isn't there a rocking chair area right there? Maybe someone was taking a breather and heard them in the tree. My kids would be SCREAMING!
It seems that it was handled by a DL employee. He used something like a vacuum to collect them. Not sure if they were later released unharmed. Certainly I hope so. No reason/need to kill them.
That certainly stimulates the "little gray cells"...
For those too young (or too old) to remember: Garrett Morris (recently Broke Girls), Elliot Gould (recently Ray Donovan), Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi (RIP), Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner (RIP), a couple "B" players (writers).
Yes, usually (at least in Canadian provinces, I can't imagine that it's that much different than the states), bee swarms will be collected via a vacuum and rehomed. There's usually a state apiculturist or association with guidelines and regulations.
