I have been reading up on some blogs today about WDW and on one they mentioned the barbers on main st.
I had heard of it before but just assumed it was for boys only. From reading the blog post I gather that is not the case?

Can anyone tell me more about it? I was already planning to take Chester there for hair cut but now thinking of taking Millie too?

They do haircuts for everyone - Chloe loves it and always gets her hair cut here. DH has had his done too when he hasn't been able to get it done before we go.

With Chloe they cut her hair and then put it up as it is long. Last time they did bunches with a zig zag pattern at the back. They also put pixie dust in pixiedust:

Childs hair cut is $15 and adults $19.

Youngest DD had her 1st haircut there in December.:thumbsup2

It was a fantastic experience & the staff were fantastic with her

They also sprinkled "fairy dust" into her older sisters hair whilst we were paying without us even asking.

I would definitely recommend it for girls :thumbsup2

Thank you, I am super excited about this especially now I know both can have a hair cut there! I am going to save Millie's first hair cut for then I think! :)

Thats what we've done! Had to trim a few curls off DS's hair for his keepsake box but his first haircut is booked for May 7th!

DD had her first haircut there and there is a special package. They save some hair and package it up plus you get a certificate and Mickey ears which say First Haircut on the back. I think it is $18.

The only other thing to remember about the barber shop is you can pay by card etc but there is no way to add the tip on so make sure you have a couple of dollar bills to tip.

I will look later as I know we have photos of DD getting her haircuts.

My DD had her first haircut there. I have many cute pictures of that morning! They set her in a little booster seat in the barbers chair and completely covered her shirt and shorts in Mickey stickers to keep her distracted. Then, they quickly trimmed her hair, gave her adorable pink Mickey ears embroidered with "my 1st haircut" on the back! So cute. They saved the first lock that they cut and wrapped it up with pixie dust for me to take home. I was also given a certificate saying that she had her first haircut done at Main Street barber shop in MK. (I'm unsure if they still do certificates, this was 3 years ago.)

Have a great time and take lots of pictures! :)

Ooh would love to see pictures! It really sounds fab! Will make sure I have cash for tip as well. Another thing for me to get Super excited about! I am deffo going to book, is there a best time of day to go? I was thinking in the morning as both kiddies will be fresh and non grumpy from the nights sleep :lmao:

We have never booked. They only have a maximum of 2 reservations every half hour so there is always space for walk ins. We usually go do a couple of rides and then come back and only waited about 20 minutes max.

This was done after DD's last 2 hair cuts:

This was her first haircut:

DH had his hair cut there a couple of years ago. Staff lovely and they offered him Pixie Dust but he said no :confused3

Looks fab! I may need to get my hair done like that :goodvibes
My son is the kind of kid that would say yes to pixie dust lol!

So glad you posted this. Got almost all of the information that I was looking for. I want to book DS for his first haircut here during our November trip and wanted to book DD as well. It will be both kids' first haircuts! I just hope they believe me because DD will be 5 and DS 2.5. Apparently, DH and I make really bald babies who don't grow much hair before their 3rd birthdays :)

Snap! DD had hers done at 2 and she only just had enough.

I had my DS first hair cut there when he was one three years ago now. The CM who cut his hair was great they covered his shorts in Mickey stickers to distract him while she cut his hair. My niece didn't get her hair cut, but they did put it in pigtails put this blue and pink coloured gel in it and sprinkled pixie dust on top as she wanted a special hairdo for her visit to CRT. I think it was $6 for that. They do a great job with the kids so I am sure yours will love it.

When we had our DDs first haircuts there we were given their first curls (with a little added pixie dust :goodvibes) all wrapped up and sealed with a Mickey sticker. That, plus the 'first hair cut' Mickey ears are another great keepsake :thumbsup2
