I have a question:

I have always wanted to get my Son's hair cut at the Barber on Main Street but the years went by too quick.

Thinking about how he needs a haircut before our upcoming trip, I wondered about getting it done there instead of before we go.

Here are my questions:

Is he too old now (12)?
What is the average cost?
Is it hard to get in?
Best to schedule once there or prior to arriving?

Thanks :)

PS - Is it a great experience like everything else Disney does or just like any other haircut??

1. No. (ALL AGES, including adult guests and Disney CMs get their hair cut there.)

2. About $15. (Be sure to bring a little CASH to tip the barber, they can't take cards for tips.)

3. It certainly can be busy.

4. Call before your trip (just like a meal ADR.)
You can schedule an appointment at the Harmony Barbershop in MK.
Call 407-WDW-DINE and ask for Childrens' Activities or
call 407-WDW-PLAY.

5. It's a little of both. The barbers are very good with "kids" of all ages.

My husband got his haircut there a couple of years ago, on a day trip just the two of us went on. I have to say it was one of the most memorable moments I've had. We made reservations, but it was crowded and a bunch of folks waiting - everyone was talking to each other - from all over country and one couple from Australia. It was a really neat time!

Well, I called yesterday and as you may have guessed,,,,no appts. available. They said they do walk ins the day of only so I guess we will try it.

My thing is this: He needs a haircut so do I just forget all of this and get it done before we go or do I hold out hope that they will get us in?

I remember I made my BBB appts. way in advance and people were doing walk ins but I guess it's a gamble....

On our Christmas trip last year, I was really busy getting ready. Somehow my oldest ds just didn't get a haircut before the trip. He is 16. We did a walk up. It was the week between Christmas and New Years, so you don't get busier than that. We aren't rope drop people, but it was relatively early in the day, I don't remember exactly what time. I think we waited about a half and hour. My ds had really difficult hair, it just does NOT behave. That was seriously one of the best hair cuts he has EVER had.

What a great story! I for sure will at least try it - worst thing is he can't get it done there and we either wait until we get home or find a regular hair cutting place around Orlando :)

Thanks!

Last year I decided it would be cool to get my haircut there. So I told the lady I wanted my hair cut just like that guy. No not that guy on Laugh Floor, but one of the other barbers. I did not realize the lady was blind. My hair ended up nothing like that guys hair.

I just took my two nephews to MNSSHP last Friday and realized on the airplane that they both needed haircuts. We went to the barber shop right after we entered the park at 4:00 and didn't have to wait at all. People did come in after us who had to wait, but they had 3 women working so they were getting people in and out pretty quickly. It was a fun experience. CMs were super friendly.

What an odd and inappropriate thing to say.
