As there were quite a few of us there recently, I felt that Main Street was lacking this year in the usual Pumpkin men/women statues.

Some of them had been put out in the village but Main Street seemed quite bare.

Did anyone else think the same ?

Yes I agree we were really disappointed especially as it was our first Halloween trip we had expected it to be a lot more decorated.
Interesting to hear they had done more in the past.

Yes definitely - I expected there to be a lot more in Main Street. Halloween Land was amazing though.

yes i really thought it lacked atmosphere as we dont really spend a lot of time in frontierland. we had to go there especially to see the decorations whereas really you should just be caught up in the themeing if that makes sense

I have just started writing my trip report and I mentioned this too. We saw many pumpkinmen statues in Frontierland that would normally be in Main Street. I can't say we were disapponted in it - there were more decorations in Fantasyland this year, where normally there are none. Also the music playing in the rides in Fantasyland was Halloweeny.

Oh yes, it freaked my DD out on the Carousel when the cackling voice appeared!

I did find it slightly odd on Wednesday, the day after MNSSHP, that the Halloween music seemed to be scaled right down. We barely noticed it at all whereas it seemed to have been on constantly every day before that.

to be honest I didn't notice the lack of Pumpkin men on Main St at all - but was blown away with the theme in Frontierland this year :cloud9:. I think Main St was more themed towards Stitch and Angel - their Halloween banners were over a lot of the shop doorways.

Omg really?? I didn't notice Stitch and Angel banners at all!! I seem to have missed loads this trip! Think this calls for a return!! :rotfl:

Skye was obsessed with her little Stitch cuddly toy and I can't believe we never realised there was a 'live' Angel either!

With regards to the original topic (Sorry strayed off a little there!! ) I must admit I was expecting more decorations around Main Street due to looking at peoples pictures from previous trips. Like mommy2ash we don't spend much time in Frontierland so I felt like we missed out on alot! we did wander up there and saw Jack Skellington and some of the pumpkinmen statues but tbh we saw more from the railroad that we'd missed out and unfortunately that was the final thing we did on our last afternoon so we didn't have the time to return to Frontierland by then! We also saw hardly any pumpkin men/woman for some reason which was a shame as Cole loved them!! (and he usually doesn't like 'scary' masks or anything so it was nice that he wasn't scared of them and would have been lovely if he could have met some properly, we just saw them in the parades and a few running around during the express train and mnsshp.

ive never been to disney at halloween before until this year,

but i thought main street was pretty cool, the part were you enter and theres the little buildingin the square with the huge pumpkin on it, and all the pumpkins in the greens around the castle -

but they outdid themselves with frontierland, it was awesome to see, I wanted to take pictures with all the halloween stuff, but they were constantly crowded by kids.

we got autographs and pics with about 7 or 8 different pumpkin men and ladies - and 6 of them were off the Character Express near the entrance to Adventureland and Frontierland. The banners over the shop doorways were like this -

all of Frontierland was themed this year, as opposed to just the bit behind and around Cowboy Cookout and the Thunder Mesa area - we spent about half an hour just watching the Pumpkin men and women larking about in the sunshine on our last mid-morning in the parks :).

when i was there last thursday the pumpkin guys were out for meet and greets in frontierland, one of them chased this little girl and the girl looked terrified and was screaming :/ i think he only did it as a joke but it went down wrong.lol he got told off

Hi, we just got home tonight, though having a great time I was mega disappointed, really looking forward to the huge pumpkin and all the decs on main street and was gutted when there was pratically nothing there! Frontierland was good again but not lit up like it used to be, also the DLP site said Fantasyland had been transformed too??? I was there for the Halloween night which again was good but it was better when we went a few years ago, originally they had a huge skull attached to the steamboat and the park all fogged out with again, loads more lighting. DLP do seem to be scaling down on things quite a bit, even tho the parks are still packed out! Still, going back in Feb, must still have the Disney Bug! :rotfl2: Debs xx ps, ignore this ticker, its up the wall as I've just come back lol!

I agree Main Street looked pretty bare. I saw the halloween stuff placed in the village and thought they were better suited to Main Street. I wouldn't say Frontierland is my favourite land but we did spent a lot of time there. I almost felt like there were too many halloween props in there. I know it's 'Halloweenland' for the duration but to me it felt rather cluttered. It didn't affect my enjoyment though :goodvibes

My eldest DD was really looking forward to lots of orange paint splats all over Main Steet like when we went in 2007! it was a bit sad really, and some of the pumpkin men had moved to the Village too! I'll have to dig out some of my old 2007 pics for comparison.

Actually I didn't think the decorations were a patch on those from our last Halloween trip in 2004.

I would've thought they'd have used the huge pumpkin from the hub for something and where was the gigantic crane set up that the pumpkin men used to cross right over the land to BTM ?

No mummy shroud on the river boat, I was disappointed about that

and not a single orange footstep in Main Street.

Plus so many of the figures were obviously the pink witches repainted orange.
IMO the Lucky Nugget looked much better when it had the figures that I think were outside PM on it's roof.
Oh and the witch that originally was supposed to have crash landed into Main Street, stopping time and therefore freezing the pumpkinmen in the midst of their painting frenzy was nowhere to be seen :confused3

At the Halloween Party Night we ended up leaving at 11.30pm so missed the midnight show as we were shattered after tons of walking that day, hope we didn't miss too much! :) Debs x
