Can you UPS a box to your resort and claim it once you arrive...and more importantly can you send box back home from your resort? Since we are flying next trip we thought we would save some luggage by just sending a box of misc items a few days before so it wouold be at resort when we arrive. we are staying at CBR.

You can definitely ship a parcel down. Just address it to yourself c/o the resort name and address and put your stay dates on the label so they will know to hold it for you on checkin. Bell services will have it for you. Be sure to allow sufficient transit time for it to get there at the same time you do or before you do. As for the return, if you are buying things at WDW, they will ship it for you. As for other things, if you have a prepaid UPS label or USPS one price box, they will pick it up when you call them, otherwise you will have to go to a UPS shipping location to ship via UPS. There may be one on site, but I do not know where it is.

I did this the last two times we went down (2006,2008). I was able to ship the box home from the resort. I printed my name and address onto a piece of paper and I packed the last of the roll of packing tape, the label and a magic marker (for crossing out any markings on the package from the trip down). When I was ready to ship, I packed the box up, taped it up, taped the label on it and brought it down to the concierge desk. They weighed it, asked how I wanted to ship it - I said UPS. Then they asked how I wanted to pay for it and it was that simple. Since I shipped it the day before we left I was able to charge it to my room. I did this from AKL and POR.

I sent down most of my luggage and snacks, coffee/filters, toothpaste, sunblock, etc for two of us. Then I just carried on a very small bag onto the plane. The cost to ship was only about $16.00 each way at the time. Not much more than the luggage fee the airline charges.

I forgot to add that the UPS website will allow you to calculate how far in advance you need to ship your package according to how much you want to spend. I had to ship about 7 business days in advance to get the cheapest rates. Also ship either UPS or FedEx. USPS does not deliver to the resorts, only the other two do.

I believe the convention resorts (GF, CR, YC, BW & CS) now charge a fee for inbound packages. Packages to those resorts are now handled by an outside company.

I am curious about this. If it is the same amount of money to ship, as it is to put it in a piece of luggage and take to airport with you, why ship it? I mean, wouldn't it be easier just to have with you at the airport, and then get it as soon as you get to the hotel? thanks.

it depends! We shipped snacks and champagne - and some glasses - it cost $20 but I didnt have to pay that resort fee (now being charged at convention resorts) we just absorbed (or consumed!) everything so I didnt have to ship it back to us!

Now I'm thinking one suitcase should be checked for our shoes (we're doing the marathon) they take up so much room - yet we wont want to check our shoes!! I'm also hoping to book Victoria and Alberts and will want to have dressy clothes - and shoes!! those shoes take up so much room!! lol

but we're staying BCV - a convention resort fee - so $25 - $50 round trip tho... I'll have to think about what we have, need, and then check UPS fees + resort fee...

That sounds nice - if your luggage arrives when you do.:lmao: Mine doesn't always. My luggage has been overseas several times - I have not. I have, however, been in the U.S. sitting in the same clothes with only my P.J's and the limited essentials that I had in my carryon for five days waiting for it. My bag, that time, had the joy of seeing Thailand. This has happened several times, although my luggage ended up in places other than Thailand those times. So when I found out I could ship my things to WDW and how easy and somewhat inexpensive it was - I decided to go that route. I know that the chances of luggage being lost are slim, but they seem to happen to me. It's probably not for everyone though.

And I do get my box that I shipped as soon as I get to the hotel. I tell them when I check in that I have a box there and it's brought right out to me as I'm finishing my check in process.
