I'm sure there is a thread about this...but I can't find it. :rolleyes2:

I want to send a package to POP before we arrive...you know, some snacks, spray/fan bottle, laundry soap, etc. It won't be a huge box. How soon do you think I should send it?? We leave on June 8th.

Thanks.

We are going to be at All-Stars on June 9th. I am planning to go to UPS on Monday before we go and have it sent to us. I have heard several people say not to "mail" by postal service but to send by delivery.

Hmm...I was hoping more people would have responded to this post as I have the same question! We aren't going till Oct, so I have more time...but it would be nice to know. We leave on a Monday so I don't know if I should ship the Friday before and if Disney will "hold" the package for me if it gets there a day or two before we do. I need to ship diapers, wipes, laundry soap, and some other misc. stuff to Port Orleans...

Thanks for posting this question!

I can tell you this... we had water shipped free from Staples.. the water cost for a case was 5.59 it arrived just fine.. one day shipping called the resort.. it was there!

Well, I had a friend mail my daughter a pin to trade by mail... well.. it never arrived and it was thru usps.

Just wanted to let you know.

I always ship a box UPS. Usually I call UPS and ask them what they suggest (I like it to arrive by at least the day before we arrive). Last year we arrived on a Saturday, and I shipped it on Monday-- I used the tracking thing to check on the computer, and I called the resort. I know they had it by Friday. The resort prefers it doesn't get there more than a day or two before you arrive. Don't forget to put your reservation number and check in date on the box.

Having Staples send a case of water is a great idea!!!!! I'm doing that this year!!

IME, FedEx Ground is almost always cheaper than UPS Ground these days. Any Kinko's location will accept your FedEx package with no handling surcharge.

Use the shipping calculators on their websites to compare prices before you send.

Didn't know that! Thanks-- good to know. We used to have a UPS store in walking distance from my house-- so it was very convenient. But, they have all closed now-- so I was thinking about trying Fed Ex at Kinkos. Thanks!

From the midwest (chicago area) to Orlando it is 4-5 days by UPS ground. If you call the company they can give you the time in transit that it takes from your area. 1-800-pickups

I have used UPS in the past and had no problems. On the UPS Website you can easily calculate the time and cost to mail your package. I did this the past two time and had no problems.

Here is the info I included on my shipping label:

Name
Resort Address
Hold For Arrival On _________________
Resort Reservation #

Where do you mail it to? The actual resort? And then how does it get to you once you're there? Do y'all just ask concierge at the front desk?

I'd like to ship DD's Ariel dress and some snacks so I don't have to worry about them on the plane.

Yes mail it to your actual resort address. I asked about my box at check-in and it had not arrived yet. I went to my room and then went to the parks and when I got back I had a message from the front desk telling me they had a package for me. I called them back and someone delivered it for me.
