I would like to know if it is okay if I bring my passport which shows my maiden name even though I have a different (married) name now. Do I have to bring my birth certificate with me too? Please respond if you have gone through this, are a disney cast member, or know absolutely for sure... Thanks!

Two options -- bring your marriage certificate or send your passport with marriage cert. back to the passport office (you can get the info and forms on-line) and have it changed. They put a little sticker in it with your new name. I just carry a folded up ORIGINAL copy of my marriage cert in my passport. If you go with this option, it must be an original copy.

Check out the US Dept of State site here for info.

Looks like you need to send in a few forms along with the original passport, & marriage certificate.

If it were me, I'd feel safer carrying a passport with the correct name on it, especially with all the heightnend security now

I did all this right after I got married, simply b/c I was paranoid about even the possibility of a problem. I didn't get a sticker however, they actually added information to a page at the back of the passport. The front page of the passport didn't show a name change. The reason for this was due to future travel: if you book the airline or hotel under your married name, you could have a problem if you don't have a passport with that same name.

Also, you can do what I did. Though I don't hyphenate my name, I went ahead and listed my maiden name as my middle name on all govt docs like drivers license, social, etc. This is in case there was ever any question during my transition from one name to the next...voila, both names are still listed legally and I don't have to run around get documents to prove one name or the other if anyone gets snarky about it.

Although it did make me nervous having to mail my passport back in order for them to do all of this. I insured and tracked that puppy up to the hilt ;)
